I was looking for an area rug for my new contemporary home we are building. I found Caspian Persian Carpet on the web but couldn't find a lot of reviews. I did, however like their website and the fact that they were a little shop tucked into the basement floor of a commercial building. I emailed Caspian with the questions that I had on a particular Bokhara rug they had posted on their website. Within 24 hours I received answers to my questions. First kudo. It was hard for me to purchase a carpet without seeing it first, so on our way home from a trip to Sechelt (about a month later) we made a detour and stopped into their shop. The shop was over flowing with beautiful carpets. Unfortunately for us, Caspian did not have the carpet I had originally asked about in their shop, but they did have a warehouse close by. The owner, Shahin, sent her clerk off to go look for it. While we waited, the owner listened carefully to me as I described the style and colour of carpet I was looking for. Second kudo. Unfortunately, for us we ran out of time as we had to catch the Canada Line for our flight home. While riding the train I received a call that they did not have the carpet I originally asked for but they had found another one they thought I would like. I asked Shahin to send me photos of it so I could consider it. About two days later I received the photos. The carpet was a beautiful, soft, hand knotted, wool Bokhara rug made in Pakistan. The price was very reasonable. Within 48hours of making my decision the carpet was in my living room. Third and final kudo. Couldn't be happier. I would definitely purchase from them again and would recommend them to family and friends. Marie

So it's about 20 some odd years ago when my family was in it's hay day of traveling the world and moving from country to country like a pack of Canadian gypsies, sans the wagon. We picked up along the way some rugs made in Afghanistan, full of beautiful colours, intricate patterns, and never perfect (on purpose) because according to legend Allah is the on perfect one, so when rugs are made they intentionally flaw them. So now flash forward 20 years and one of these heirlooms acquired by family has begun to deteriorate due to the dry conditions in where my parents live. An entire end of the carpet has ben eaten away by time, to never return. However to save the day is this place. Not only do they specialize in these types of carpets but also deal in carpets imported from India, Afghanistan, and Iran. I called them up and explained the situation and all I had to do was have the carpet shipped to Vancouver from my parents and they would take care of the rest. These guys were incredible they cleaned the carpet and where able to RE-Stitch the missing carpet end to a state as if it had never been ruined... What talent has to go into this? Once complete they shipped it back to my folks and now the carpet can go on for another 40- 50 years....
