I generally have great experiences when I visit this location. Like all Home Depot locations, their scale is enormous and at times it can be difficult to track down an associate.  As soon as you find one though, they are always willing and ready to help.  If they don't know the answer, they will wander the aisles for you until they find someone who does.  You'll have your parking validated so don't worry about finding parking on the street nearby.I always find the front entrance to be cluttered with buckets containing latest deals,  this always makes the story look a little disorganized but overall a satisfactory shopping experience. No qualms with returning items too, big bonus.

One of America's largest home improvement retailer opened chain stores in Canada.   The selections are huge, it sells almost everything you use for home improvement. They always have some staffs on the floor to help out the customers, however, they're not all knowledgeable and helpful.  Especially this location! My hubby regularly shops at home improvement stores like I shop at supermarkets weekly! We wanted DIY for automatic sprinkler at back yard and side walk. We went to different home depot to get kit and heads due to some stores are out of stock. We asked the staff to help and explain about sprinkler head nozzle adjustment but he had no clue.  My hubby was a bit disappointed but he has a good friend to ask (Google).  We bought and installed it successfully.

Zero stars for lack of consistency within the chain and rude staff. Plus one star because yelp forces me to. I was going to buy a bunch of stuff, totaling around $200. I was entering the store with my dog when a girl at the returns counter stopped me and said - in a very insincere tone, "I'm sorry, we don't allow animals in the store." Um so basically I'm supposed to take more than an hour out of my day to drop my dog off and come back to Home Depot for the privilege of spending money there? That is not how you run a business or treat your customers. My dog goes with me to the Home Depot stores in the US all the time, and he's always welcome and receives lots of attention and love from the people who works there, so I assumed it would be the same here (I also couldn't see any "no pets allowed" near the entrance, which would have saved me the humiliation), it's not like my dog decides to shit all over the store in Canada as opposed to in the US stores or anything like that. I was like, "well, what am I supposed to do?" (obviously tying him outside which is a very busy intersection with lots of foot traffic is NOT an option) and she replied "I don't know" in a very annoyed tone. Home Depot clearly didn't want my money and I can't wait to be across the border where the staff is friendly and my dog is welcome. It sucks that I have to spend one of the last days in this beautiful city on finding another place to get the things that I need last minute, but I'm not spending money in a place with rude staff and dumb policies.

Sitting in a coffee shop, therefore, taking the time to clear out some of the drafts that have been sitting in my inbox for 4 months of local reviews in attempt to reduce my list one at a time (I have over 60 drafts). This used to be a Canadian tire. I arrived her and to my surprise the name changed. My heart was broken. I have an attachment to CND tire. I wanted to pay cash for tools so that I could get some CT money. I had no choice to come here. Got my tools but no CT money. Service was okay. Items are the same as a CT.

I'm very unsatisfied with the decorating department. I ordered some blinds for my living room and bedroom. The first time the installer came one set of blinds was not measured properly (she blamed the factory which didn't cut it exact), she tried to push it in and dented my wall and scratched the paint off my wall. After many tries she finally gave up, and said will bring this to a local store for a resize. Also mentioned will repaint my wall. The second time (after 1 week) she came back with the "resized" blinds, but still did not fit! She blamed the local shop which probably did not resized it and still call her to pick it up. The 3rd time (after 2 weeks) she came back with the fitted blinds and installed it. And help me painted my walls (but they are still dented) However I found out the insert (top bar/cover for the blinds) was dirty, spotted with a few black marks. She blamed the cutting shop that there's some glue there and they dirtied it. She said will order new ones for me and will come back to install it. Now I have been waiting for more than 1 month for her to come back. Still no news. I called HD few times to file/complain about it. Everytime they say "wait for the job to complete, will reimburse me then" and "will contact the installer to call me". Home Depot promised me will not charge me until the job is done. (I paid 50% of the grand total at the beginning, and suppose to pay the rest when job is done), however, they have already charged me full price. I called and complain about that too, but all they said was the installer said it is completed therefore they charged. They have wasted me over 3 months, just to get my blinds installed, and still not complete yet! Do not even think about their blinds service!!

I just bought a fridge here, really, I just did, and even though it's not at my home just yet (as requested by me) I have to give the sales guy, and this store it's due. This is not the closest one to my house, and this is definitely an urban-city Home Depot. Located where all the hustle and bustle of Cambie/Broadway is strategically placed for those who don't have a car, right along a Skytrain line, yet they still have all the big stuff if you have a house. If you buy something here, you can get your parking reimbursed, as it's the same parking lot as that for Save On Foods and Winners. They have everything that other HD's have... from light bulbs, to tiles, to big appliances, and it's pretty easy to find some help lurking around the isles. It's a full on HD just put into a non-warehouse environment. The only beef I have.. and it's not their fault.. but more like their loss prevention.. is the shopping carts which have a mechanism that locks the wheels. Everytime I go.. and I need a cart, it's hard to find.. and when I find one.. it's impossible to move cause someone probably tried to take the thing off premises.. and the wheels are locked up, and impossible to move.. like a cave man rolling a cart with square wheels. One of the places I've used to buy pieces and parts for the current renovation going on. If you really walk around sometimes you find good deals... like my fridge.. as it was a display model, and luckily for me.. they can keep it there.. only for a short time.. before they ship it to me.. as I need to get the floor done before this new beauty comes. Good service, and convenient......

Delivery is a disaster - I ordered a washer and drier from Home Depot on Cambie. That was two weeks ago. They have contracted out to a third party company for delivery that: 1. Does not deliver in any other window that 9am to 4pm.2. Does not deliver on Sunday. 3. Does not commit to any time. They will give you a 4 hour window but are not bound by it.  4. Your appliances are held hostage by the delivery company.  I even tried to pay extra to get  them to me. No luck. So, if you are like 90% of the city and can't take an entire day off to wait for a delivery, good luck. My first attempt at delivery (which I hired someone to be there for me) was a disaster because the delivery guy refused to remove a bi-fold door. The second delivery was schedule for first thing this morning (they committed to that) but later told me that it would get there when it got there. "We make no time guarantees."The store blames the contractor. The contractor blames the store. Nobody takes accountability. I have been without a washer or drier for 2 weeks.

Awful customer service. I was redirected to the contractor desk by another home depot employee to inquire about an item that was shown online to be in stock at that store, but no one could find. I walked up to the desk to find 2 associates there wearing "I'm a pro" aprons. There was no other  customers around at the moment. I stood there waiting for one of them to make eye contact with me but they didn't, so I said "hi there". Without even looking at me, the guy barks " I'm busy. What do you want? Do you have a quick question?" I was so taken back that I replied, "no, its okay. I will come back later" and left the store.  I definitely did not receive "pro" service today.

By far one of the best Home Depots solely for their customer service. Yes, you may have to wait your turn of flag one down , but once you get their attention, it's all you baby. They really go out of their way to help you with every single thing.

I never, in a million years, thought I would write a 2 star for a Home Depot. But here we are. Please note - this review is solely based on rentals, and will not reflect the store in it's entirety.I'm a Home Depot addict. So much so, that I usually require adult supervision when entering. I have a habit of buying three gallons of paint for no apparent reason or convincing myself I need a laser level... every 3 months. So when the occasion arose that I had to rent a power tool - I was tickled pink. The rental prices are good. Not the cheapest as advertised but fair for the equipment. It's always in good shape and the service staff are quick to get you exactly what you need. This was not my first time renting from HD, and all my previous experiences were top notch. So why was this two star? Some time in the last year, they changed their rental policy. You see, I am one of those odd humans who subsist without a credit card. I have a Visa/Debit for online purchases and traveling to the states but there isn't even a back up credit card in this here wallet. That being said, i've never had an issue with it. As more and more people are switching to pre-paid Visas or the Visa/Debit cards, most rental places are good about flexing their rental policies to allow us Visa/Debit toters to put down a deposit. In the last month, I have rented from A&B Party Rentals, A&B Tools, Long & McQuade & Blim without issue. Most of which, was for equipment that was FAR more expensive then the belt sander I had my eye on. Quick deposit down and I'm on my merry way.Even my last experience at HD was easy peasy. But I guess that somewhere along the lines they changed their rental system and you can no longer rent via Visa/Debit. Why?Because they cannot issue a refund via Debit.... though, you can easily do so at the refund/exchange counter...What if I take the refund in cash?... It would be too confusing for the staff. What if I leave a deposit in cash? To pick up on return?... Someone who have to be held accountable, and that's too confusing for the staff.Big sigh.I find it a little absurd that in an era where Visa/Debit is becoming more and more of a norm, they would choose to go BACKWARDS in their system upgrades and deny something that was easily done but a year ago. And with so many other rental places jumping on the band wagon, it seems ridiculous that a big name like HD would not adjust to meet that demand. After a half hour, I left disappointed and empty handed.Wag of the finger home depot. No frivolous paint purchases in the near future for you.

DH & I were here on Saturday afternoon to kill some time before our 3 pm movie. The store was kinda empty.Could be a result of the Home Depot customer data breach.Every time a staff member saw us they asked 'do you need any help, can I help you find something ?'.This happens at least one dozen times in the 30 mins we spent in the store. It got really annoying.I felt like I was in Future Shop ( where they chase you around the store if they even see that you're interested in something ).Maybe they were practicing good customer service but I just like to be left alone until I need help or it's obvious that I'm searching for something.

This review is based solely on the customer service team, not the selection, quality or beauty of their home products. We recently tried to return a couple of items, one of them we didn't even have the receipt anymore because we had purchased it a while ago and never used it. The girl we spoke to was super helpful, told us that since we didn't have the receipt we would only get a store credit and was that ok with us. Well of course it is, most shops would pretty much tell us to get lost anyway! The item for which we had the receipt was a broken lightbulb that didn't work with our dimmer and started buzzing, so it was pretty much ready for the trash... She refunded us no problem and there we picked up a different lightbulb.WIth service like that, it makes you want to give them business because they don't make a fuss when things go wrong. So there, Home Depot, good job on training your customer service team because we will be back and continue shopping with you.

Every time I come I find a helpful sales associate that helps me figure something out.Last time a spry mature gentleman helped me choose the best quiet space heater. I wish he was my grandpa he was so cute.Today I needed some special bulbs and a young associate brought me to the spot and helped me choose the right ones.Helpful and amusing. That's how I like to shop!g

Please see my review of Homesense.I bought a shelf/table/ottoman thing here. They didn't have a press grill for my sandwich making. 3 stars for having me carry a box that was almost as heavy as me and not having a grill to make my sandwich to cure my appetite from the lifting workout when I got home.

The people here want to be very helpful. But if you get any flooring installed from Home Depot double-check all quotes. Sometimes they have several people working on your order with the potential for huge mix ups. A big mistake was made on two quotes sent to me. I finally asked a woman in Installations (who seemed to understand what I wanted) to do the third quote (!) herself and not pass it on to anyone else to finish up.

It's the only Home Depot I go to; possibly the only Home Depot I know. I'm sure we all know what a Home Depot is, what they sell or what they do. So, this branch is the same. It's clean, organized, well-stocked and not a very large Home Depot, I'm assuming. But I seem to find what I need for home DIY here. Convenient location if you live downtown!

Personally my choice would be to do business with a smaller operator but are no smaller operators. This Urban Sized Home Depot has most want a condo dweller needs for basic home repair. Renting Items like Carpet Cleaners and Hand Trucks from this place can be a grand pain in the ass. This Multinational Company and some most circular rental contacts polices I have ever encountered. If you want to rent a drill find out what the replacement cost is before you go out the door.  Floor staff are helpful if they know that answer but training levels vary greatly.

The service at every Home Depot I've been to is superb. I frequent this location the most and it is no exception. My only complaint about this specific store is that you can't buy your wood and get it cut here because they don't have a wall saw (because they're only leasing the space or something like that) so you have to go to another location. For everything else, I would much rather come here than the hardware store a few doors down.

This is a nice large Home Depot therefore it has a full range of stock. I don't know if it's related to store size or what, but, it was difficult for me to find someone to help me find my product. Finally, I just popped over to Lowe's which is a few minutes away by foot.

Was mid-conversaion at Service Desk and was interrupted by the lady who was helping us. She picked up a phone call and proceeded to talk with the the individual on the other end while in the middle of a conversation with us. We left to find the product we needed ourselves-no one helped us or said hello to us. We waited to get our blinds cut to the correct size however after 10minites nobody came or noticed us. Overall the staff was oblivious of their customers and lacked common manners. Never returning.

Mixed feeling. There are some very good stuffs really can help me, but also some very bad stuff just ignore customers. Once at customer service a lady buried her head writing something and let me wait for five minutes. Today a young lady at lumber checkout just ignore me while she was unsuccessfully trying to call someone and let me wait for few minutes. She just avoid eye contact and gave no explanation at all. I think the stuff training of this store is not up to standard. Some stuffs are very good, some are really bad.

This is one of the larger stores so they have good stock and a range of products. I've been working on a couple of projects over the past year so I've been a regular in their lumber and tool rental department. There's a more senior gentleman who normally works at the contractor counter who is very friendly and knowledgeable. The rental staff are also very good and will give you good advice but one thing is a bit disappointing - you can't reserve some of their machines e.g. excavators. You have to turn up on the day and hope it's available. There's normally someone available to help you load up stuff into your vehicle which can be a godsend when you have multiple sheets of 4x8 plywood or 2x lumber.

We have just moved in Kitchener and dropped by this branch for some help on blinks/curtains. The staff were nice and everything, but the problem with homedepo is the offers they make and then they later fail to satisfy. We sat down with one of the staff to schedule a viewing of our place, which is said it is for free, to get a quote for curtains and blinds installations. They told me we will be contacted in two days and then can schedule an appointment. They did in fact contact us in two days only to nortify us that the next available time for them is in almost 2 months! The person who called was very rude and refused to provide any more details. Why would you even offer such service when you cannot make it happen? I canceled my other viewing with blindstogo only to witness this failure? I'd rather pay a fee to make the viewing happen, but see it happened when I need it.

Largest and best selection of the Home Depots in the KW region but most of all the Staff here is what make this home hardware store the best in Ontario. Extremely helpful. Very knowledgeable and always available. Unlike the Rona next door. I was in there a few weeks ago. Looking for something specific. Asked for help, was told the person in that department was not around and that he would go find them let them know I was there. 10 minutes went by I seen the guy I originally talked to be basically didnt bother asking. I am a former employer of this store and I have to tell you that the people working there do so at minimum wage. There are people who have been there for 6-7 years and still earn min wage and still hold a temp position. They constantly come under threat of losing their jobs and have to force clients to buy at least 200$ of products. According to the store director, everything fine with the store. This store sells because of location. No close competition around. They are number 1 in every department according to all internal censuses. May be you should stop going to shop there and protect local companies like Rona. not that they are any better but at least you know the money is staying in Canada. Don't expect any improvements in this store .This company is very dogmatic. You either follow or you are put out of the way. Also those who want to take good incentives are put out as well. If you have been to an HD in Canada and you get a great service, that means the store is not making money. If it is making money, they don't care for customer service.

Mathew Bouchard helped us chose our backsplash grout explained step by step to my husband how to apply it ... Walked us around the store making sure we had all the tools we needed then escorted us to the cash and out the door. Nicest guy ever and the best service we've ever had ! My husband will be going back just to be served by him now ! I work in the service industry and its so nice to be served by someone who clearly loves their job! Thank you.

Had to load 627lbs of tile on my own, moved another 400bls to get to intact cases. I'm a 45yr old cancer patient. One employee just walked around me ignoring me completely for 15mins. Others just walked by uninterested and obviously not willing to help or ask if I needed any. I was there for 25 mins taking many rest breaks. When I tried to custom order some tile and not feeling well after all the heavy lifting I found no one to help and one employee started giving me attitude when I mentioned the service there was very poor. This Individual was sitting at a computer in the floor dept. and didn't know how to order tile. I then decided to leave and go else where. On my way out I saw many employees just wondering around and outside just standing around smoking and laughing. Horrible service at this location. Don't shop here. I will never return to this location. Obviously they need to get a better manager who knows how to run a Home Depot. The other reviews confirm this location has some major major issues.

Most times there is no one around that is as knowledgeable as a good contractor. As well half of the time I needing to drive to another location or a different retailer. Due to out of stock items mainly in electrical and plumbing. And I've been told numerous times that when the big wigs from head office come in there told in advance of the visit and therefore told to put empty boxes on the shelf to make it look full. 5 different managers have told me this at different times.

I went to this Home Depot today on April 30th, 2013, and I have received really rude service form Keith in the Hardware department. I bought a pack of 100 8*1 screws a week ago, and today I found out the a quarter of them does not work at all, and wiggles. So I went there and after 5 minutes of conversation with the lady at the return department, she told me to talk to this Keith to see what he can do. After I went there I told Keith what happened, and demostarted the situation to him with my own tool. But he denies EVERYTHING I said, and blamed it on my tool, and said that my tool "worn out". Then he took one of the new tools at their own place, and did the same thing WITH THE PLASTIC COVER on it, so it fit perfectly, then he walked away. I found out this problem, and talked to him about this situation, then he said that there are "nothin' he could do about it" so I told him I don't want a full refund or anything, I just want a pack that doesn't wiggle! He got a new pack that doesn't wiggle, and told us to PAY for this new one. Then he practically ignored us, so I went to him, and told him that I already bought a new pack, and we don't want him to give us a WHOLE new pack, or a FULL refund, but he has a responsibility to at least give us a quarter of the "not wiggling" screws. But he just plainly refused, and said no it's not his problem, and I cannot give you anything, it just doesn't work this way. I wasn't demanding anything BIG, like give me 5 new packs for a quarter that doesn't work! He tried to trick us with the plastic covered tool at first, then he tries to get away with it. After I found out his little trick, he STILL deines that he has ANY problem! He told me next time I tries to do something like replacing "used" ones with new ones, I should at least give him the whole pack. I told him that this is perfectly NEW screws, and how should I know that there is such a problem if I don't USE it?! He didn't care at all, and just kept on saying He's not responsible as if he is right, and I should just buy more packs, and try to get lucky. Anyways this is a really awful experience, and if I tell you avoid KEITH in the HARDWARE department, because of his rude manners, and carelessness!

It's a home improvement store - not destination shopping. There is only a need to go there when one needs to fix something. What's important to me are the inventory, the price and availability. I don't need to talk to the staff unless I can't find something I need - and to this latter point I have had reasonable experience. You just need to know where the orange aprons are likely to hang out. Other than that I would rather prefer to be left alone to browse and stock up.

Worst Home Depot ever. You can literally walk around for an hour and no one will help you. Staff are either on their phones or talking to each other. We wanted to buy wood to build planter boxes and needed help getting wood from a high spot and couldn't find anyone to help get wood down. And stood there for 30 mins and every employee that walked by was chatting with another employee or on their smart phones. One was actually watching a cat video.... Another time I flagged down someone with a question about a caulking product and they just read off the back of the label. No product knowledge at all. I can read the label too, I wanted their opinion on the product! Do yourself a favour and head to the Home Depot on 1900 United Boulevard in Coquitlam! They are super helpful and know their stuff! Can tell you exactly what to get and what is better!

I understand the need for a store to place a time limit on returns, but when a customer has an obviously defective product it is very frustrating to hear that you are past the return time. A store should stand by ther products, especially when it was over $600. This might not habve been a total loos for me , but the fact remains that the staff here are not helpful and I find time and again I feel like I am a bother to them for asking for help. On one occasion a staff member actually put his hand up in my face as he quickly walked buy saying " BUSY" and kept walking. There are many other hardware store that will gladly take my money, and I will gladly go to them from now on

I am someone who calls or emails when service is excellent. Today I called the Halifax store and received most unhelpful treatment. I asked for the paint department inquiring about the availability of Rustoleum Stone Accents Spray Paint at the Halifax location before I ventured out from home. I had previously bought this product while in Dartmouth but since I live in Halifax, and needed another can of paint, I called the Halifax store to see if it was in stock. The man who answered the phone did not seem prepared to check to see if the paint I needed was in stock. I told him I had purchased the paint in Dartmouth and he simply told me the Halifax store was much bigger than the Dartmouth store and so would have the paint in stock. I had to ask him if it was possible to check because I didn't want to drive out to Bayers Lake if I wasn't sure the paint was there. To which he replied "Skew number?" I proceeded to give him the skew number, pausing after every few numbers, thinking that he might be writing it down or checking it on a list. He said, before I had finished, "That's not enough numbers". I explained that, out of courtesy, I thought he might need more time so I was pausing to allow hi to take in all the skew numbers. He was most unfriendly and guess what ....? The Halifax store does not carry the paint I need! Dare I suggest a lot more personal relations and courtesy training for the individual who was working the shift in the paint department on the morning of Wednesday, August 19th. Great customer service is what prompts people to return to any store. This man needs a little work! He didn't even say goodbye, simply hung up!

homedepot.ca
4
@

I have been there any number of times. The staff have helped me with projects, credit, ordering and cutting in-store blinds, and most recently getting a quote for a set of kitchen cabinets. I have had great customer service in almost all departments--I must admit the 'almost' is because the paint department employees do seem more curt and harried, as there is usually a line of people vying for their attention, but when you get to the front of the line YOU are their focus just like the person ahead of you was a minute before.

homedepot.ca

Terrible customer service. I asked a sales associate for a drywall product and his response was "why would we carry that??? It's a specialty product." What kind of service is that? Went to another sales associate and asked for assistance for a tool, and they gave attitude and said it was in a different place in the store and did not offer to show me. It's not like it was a busy time, there was virtually no one in the store. This was my first and last Home Depot halifax experience. I will not be returning.

Good place for your home repair needs. This location always seems slightly understaffed; I've never really needed assistance here, but every time I've went there I have noticed that staff can never take more than a few steps before being asked more and more questions. Still, they remain genuinely helpful.

homedepot.ca

Worst customer service ever! Asked to check for an item if it is in stock. They offered to call me back... I never received that call even after waiting for hours. Called back and asked another associate to check the inventory... they kept throwing me to service desk and wasted another 15 minutes... service desk paged them and they kept on throwing me around in the queue.... Eventually when I complained about why they are constantly kept throwing me around, they said that they dont have the item even thou the system in the store shows 3 in stock.... And then the rep didn't even let me finish and hung up

homedepot.ca

I went in to the store to buy some storage totes after seeing dozens of them in stock online. There were many different sizes and brands available online at this store but for my surprise not much of them actually on the floor, except a lot of lids without any totes around! I called CS for help and she paged inventory guys to find out that the item was not in stock and online availability is probably an error. She looked genuine but I am not sure if it was stock error or they pulled a fast on me. If you know what you are looking for and where it is then you are good, otherwise be ready to be frustrated. Also better to call ahead and make sure the item is really in stock if you are planning to buy anything here.

Generally quite a good home depot (I've been in a lot of these, and frequently) Most of the staff is friendly other than a guy in appliances who is rude, unhelpful and has poor product knowledge. Most of the other staff are knowledgeable or can find you someone else that is.(what more can you ask really) Store is tidy. Manager is friendly. Stock levels are usually pretty good. This is my closes home depot so I am here very often. My biggest complaint is that this store has a clearance problem. Clearance products are barely marked down and often sit around for months as a result. Many times I've seen clearance product more expensive than current product prices because they have been there so long. It's a small thing, but it bothers me.

homedepot.ca
3
@

Not much to say about this particular location. The same struggle constantly exists with Home Depot. They have all of the hardware and merchandise I'm generally looking for, but the sales/service are overwhelmed with newbies like myself, and it's hard for me to find the expertise that I'm looking for. In my latest trip, I found the self checkout especially difficult to deal with, as the scanning device wasn't reading the bar codes on approximately 20% of the items that I purchased. Got frustrated and asked the cashier/assistant to cancel my self checkout, so that I could go to a regular checkout.

homedepot.ca
1

What can I say: they don't care. If you buy something here make sure you check and re-check the package. I have returned defective lumber merchandise, electrical and others. Next day I went back I saw the same items back on the shelf. So many boxes on their shelves with the seals broken, it almost feels like you are visiting a second hand store. Make sure you check your boxes and they have their seals on... Out of all departments in the store, only the staff in plumbing are polite and know what they're doing.

Was in to spend some money. Received some money for Xmas.We needed a new furnace. So we were going to order a Trane furnace ,fridge , stove and dishwasher. I needed a trailer to take stuff home before I purchased it. Finally found a trailer in the seasonal dept. It was damaged . Lights broke off, dents in fenders and back of trailer. Lic.plate lights both damaged. In summer same trailer was 1699.00 less 100.00 off. After waiting for manager to show up to see if I could save a few dollars on this trailer. The manger would only give me 125.00 off of trailer and it was up to me to replace all broke lights. I said in the fall the trailers all had 100.00 off. Why not give me 200.00 off and I would take it as is and I would replace lights. He would have no part of it even after I said it was a hundred dollars off in the fall and damaged. He would only give me 125.00 off. I said I could come back and get a undamaged trailer for 1699.00 less 100.00 so why would I pay what he wanted for a badly damaged trailer. So as I walked out of this store with nothing and went down to TSC store the very same trailer was sitting in their parking lot. They were more than happy to give me a good price which I purchased and when out to a local appliance dealer and purchased all my appliances . Plus a washer and dryer. Total value of all items and trailer was over 18,000.00. Thanks Home Depot for the wake up call.

OK for most things but usually a frustration for building supplies as they apparently have only a half dozen lumber carts and then half of them are usually tied up with custom windows or something. It's gotten to the point where I gladly drive to Lowes in the 'shwa because I know they'll have all their carts indoors lined up by the lumber.

One of the men that works in the tool rental department has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Rodney is the persons name. From not answering the phone to sitting in the little back room while people are waiting at the cash area. When he finally arrives he makes you feel like he is doing you a favour by even showing up to take my money. Having done many home renovations I am very aware of how much materials and which tools I require. Time and time again I have either had Rodney try to up sell me far to much material or the wrong equipment (once sent me on my way with a sander and no cord, he proceeded to blame a young guy when it was Rodney who I was dealing with) When I tell him I have used X product and Y machine before I have been met with responses such as: obviously you are not doing it properly, or you should just hire someone. I am sure he has a lot of product and store knowledge, but that guy needs a serious customer service update. When I see that he is working I will usually borrow a tool from a friend or just leave the store completely. Today I am on the phone trying to be connected to the rental department (yes he is working I asked). I was transfered 4 (5 by the end of my call today) times and no one even picked up the phone to say one moment please. A young girl took my call and tried to help me out, but was not sure about the products. I am in the hotel and restuarant business where a smile and a hello go a long way. If I walked into the rental store and Rodney greeted me with a smile and "how may I help you today sir." I would probably laugh so loud the lights would shake. At least I would know that management has taken this complaint (and it is a direct complaint about his work ethic and service level) seriously and talked with the staff member. Today I had a guest tell me that one of my employees was "fantastic, but the other day another staff member did not seem happy and wasnt smiling." I congratulated one staff member and had a private talk with the other staff member about customer service. On the third day the same guest came up to me and said 'you must have had a talk with your staff, because today she was so helpful and friendly' I thanked the guest for making me aware of the situation because as managers we can not always witness our staffs behaviour and interaction with our clients that in the end pay our bills or stay and shop elsewhere. Good luck to Rodney. I may be by the store in the next couple days and if I receive Rodney's personal standard level of service I will send you another note detailing my experience. As for the rest of the Charlottetown store: Flooring department is very good and helpful, paint is great, lumber (usually get it myself) good service, cashier provide good service, but I find the best counter people are always by the loading dock door. Like any business we have good apples and bad apples. In my personal opinion Rodney has fallen off of the company tree and has been laying on the ground rotting and probably affecting other apples.

Home Depot is a surprisingly good place for Christmas goodies and decorations. The help in each department seems more knowledgable here than other locations, but as usual, are hard to find. HD needs to put more people on the floor during the day.

I work at SmartyPantz Escape Rooms. Yesterday we were having some trouble with one of our puzzles which we needed a key cut thinner, three locations turned us down before I tried Home Depot and the gentleman there had no problem cutting the new thinner key and even wrote a smiley face on the bag. :) I rushed back to work and my manager tried it but it was still too thick unfortunately. I headed back to Home Depot and even though I was told they technically didn't have any thinner keys the same gentleman who helped me before went through the stock of keys, comparing them and found one that was thinner. He cut that one for me and it ended up saving the day back at work.

If you know what you're looking for this Home Depot is great. If you have to ask for assistance, good luck finding someone who has any knowledge what so ever. Specifically in specialty areas like the windows and doors where you'd think you would encounter employees who know a thing or 2 or at least knows how to work the computer system. It's very frustrating.

I went back to the store on 137 Ave in Edmonton to refund an item on same day. The item was defect.Patricia at customer service saw the defect area and accused me damaged it right away and can't do refund. I told her, I didn't. She just won't listen and kept accusing me and she called a supervisor whose name was Leslie.Leslie approaching the desk, from far she saw the defect area, right away said I damaged it and can't do refund. All these happened with customers around.Again, I told her I didn't do anything to it. Leslie said to me that she will refund it and tried to convince me to admit I actually damaged it! I said again that I didn't do anything to it. And a male staff saw the item when approaching the desk, said he believes it got damaged during production, packaging or shipping and told them to proceed with the refund. Even a customer who was in line came and said he doesn't know what's the problem with these employees. Other stores would just refund with no questions.Bad service

I usually go to home depot for household repair needs. For the most part their in store staff were helpful with products recommendation and advice. I would gave them 4 stars, but I recently had an experience that really question the integrity of Home Depot. Home depot have cleaning services that does carpet and furnace/ventilation cleaning. The lady working their told me what they would do and how much it cost. From our conversation I had certain expectation. However the crew only does a fraction of that. What was suppose to be furnace cleaning turn out to be a vacuum of the furnace and brushing of the top of the ventilation opening. They call me on my cellphone to discuss other cleaning that they belief should be done and I agreed to it. At the end it cost me almost $500, and I can see that the ducts are still dirty. They also failed to put the furnace door back properly. I cancelled the carpet cleaning service after seeing how they clean the furnace. If anyone at Home Depot like to dispute or inspect what was done, please message me. If this type of service is not up to your standard and you would like to review this issue, I'll be happy to give you an opportunity and I will retract this review if it turns out that the crew were not following procedures.

What. A. Nightmare. My husband and I ordered two specialty doors. After several weeks of waiting and being told multiple times that our doors were in, we discovered (after several visits to the store and several employees sifting thru the delivery bay) that the doors were actually at the warehouse. We asked to have the doors shipped to the store and took a vacation and returned 3 weeks later to finally pick up our doors only to discover that both doors were wrong. The manager of that area said "I knew we ordered them wrong, I should have fixed the order". No kidding. We asked to reorder and were asked if we would just accept a trim kit for one door that would "make it look right". No. After 6 more weeks of waiting and frequent calls to the store, we finally receive a call that our order was in. Wow! We go to pick up the doors that night and, no joke, they bring out the original doors that were ordered incorrectly. We send the doors back, again, and asked them to reorder them, again. We wait and wait and wait. We call, we visit, then I ask to speak to the manager of that department. He confesses he hasn't reordered the doors and he's not sure what's gone wrong. He says he'll do it and give us a call when its done and a discount card when the doors finally come in. Fine, whatever. We wait another 2 weeks. I don't get a call. I go in to check on the order and find out that manager quit and the file has been given to the "Expediter and she gets things done". Whatever. Have her call me. She doesn't. We wait, we wait, we wait. I call, I go in. No doors. I cancel one order. I can't cancel the other. I have a house full of these doors, with only one door remaining. I ask them to read me the order details. The 'Expediter' has ordered a trim kit for the remaining door. The trim kit I rejected MONTHS ago. And so, after 4 MONTHS OF WAITING I still have NO DOOR. If you can use another Home Depot, my advice is that you do that. Spend $5 to drive across town to another location. This is the worst managed HD I have ever encountered in my life.

The store service was terrible. Only 1 staff member (out of 7 in the immediate area) knew where the product was. They had all disappeared when we had a few questions but we bought the grass trimmer anyway. A few days later. I wanted some info on additions for this trimmer. I got left on hold 3 times. I tried your site (no luck). Your assistance chat line window popped up. Nobody home there either. I sent you an email outlining this experience. No response there either. I realized I was doing all the work to buy some product from HOME DEPOT. This is the worst (crappy) service ever. I returned the trimmer and am buying from a reputable retailer who believes in after sale SERVICE. In future, I will only shop at Home Depot if I can't find what I need Anywhere else. The service in your store even excels the crappy service at Canadian Tire and THAT is not something to brag about.

It took 5 workers to bring down one box of roofing nails. This was after the girl tried to tell me that bostitch guns only work with bostitch nails. And then she couldnt even identify which ones were roofing nails. I had to show her 3 times. Then she couldnt reach them so she got an old man to try who couldnt reach them and then they started talking about using a forklift. And 2 others came over and all 4 of them stood there staring at this box of nails until finally one guy comes and climbs the ladder to grab it. What a terrible location. I waited 45 minutes for someone to cut some lengths of wood for me. In that time I decided to roam the store to find someone to help. I found 3 people and each said they would page someone. I never heard a page so I'm assisting it was some kind of internal page. When the guy finally did saunter by, he had two other customers in tow to assist. He told me that he needed to look after them first because they were there before me. I asked them if they had been waiting 45 minutes and they said no not at all. He then continued to help them first anyways. service this bad is a conscious decision. He told me that if I contacted Moen, Canada that they would send me out the parts or replace my faucet by UPS. But Moen Canada is closed Saturday and Sunday and I would have to wait until Monday to contact the company for the replacement faucet. I would have been without a kitchen faucet for at least 5-6 days. Instead he was kind enough to take on the responsibility of replacing my old faucet with a new one. I want to personally thank Patrick for the fantastic service.

Overall, a very good store, people are helpful, polite except for one idiot, brunette working in the Paint department. I haven't seen him lately. He is from the Orient, speaks one of the Arabic languages and pays attention mostly to customers coming from his homeland. Has this arrogant attitude with a smirk on his face that you feel like punching his face. I reported him once, but nothing's been done. I will avoid him at any cost. I hope he will get fired. In my experience, unless you know exactly what you are looking for it is very difficult to get a sales associate to assist you at this Home Depot location. Sales associates can be seen walking aimlessly far off in the distance, or gathered talking to one another, and by the time you get to their location for assistance they've scattered like cockroaches in the light. As a customer, all I want is a sales associate in their respective department to be available to assist me when I've been waiting for twenty minutes. It's not too difficult to do this, since Lowes seems to do this whenever I'm there. I spent 30 minutes today waiting and trying to find an electrical associate to help me. This happens all too regular at the Tecumseh Home Depot location. After spending thousands of dollars and years of being a recurring customer I am taking my business to Lowes.

The staff are not knowledgeable or helpful and one lady in particular who works at customer service is outright rude and belligerant, gave me hell for using the entrance door to exit the store. I know this is not a reflection of the entire staff, but nevertheless she scolded me in front of her manager. I hope the management read customers feedback.

This Ikea has been servicing Scarborough and the surrounding area for over 20 years. Have been coming here since I was a child, and still come here to get things for my parent's house. With the new competition from Lowe's Home Depot is really stepping it up and putting on a real fight.

First time in 15 years I visited a Home Depot where EVERYONE helped me in each aisle where I needed assistance. Furthermore I was greeted with smiles and good mornings from 2 random floor staffs combined with the 3 who assisted me in finding my products which were in stock. Then I had the most pleasant cashier associate be cheerful and it just made my day. So it is evident that in addition to product avaialbility, I always appreciate good service. As a result, I will most likely be visiting this location again over others and instead of competitors. I hope that team gets recognition! Superb job and great location!

Was looking for pricing on a special order product for my home Reno so I called in. Was on hold for an associate for over 10 minutes. After finally getting someone on the line I proceeded to ask for a quote on 3 differently sized doors for my home. After giving me a quote on the first door, I proceeded to ask the associate about the second size to which he responded that he was very busy. As a customer also who waited on the phone for service I felt that u had already waited in queue just as I would have in person. He then impatiently asks for the information about my next door size. Tells me to hold and hangs up! Terrible service from this associate in the door department.

MY 'GO TO' STORE TO GET WHAT I NEED. Not perfect, but if you figure out who the experienced sales staff are your shopping experience goes a lot better. Sometimes the associates will sell you products they've been trained to push. e.g. PEX PIPE and fittings. I regret installing the suspect products in my washroom. On the other hand, I've been to competitive stores Lowes and Rona (defuncto a gonzo). Frustratingly annoying!!! Ya sure, I get some bum information from H.D. too, but I've also completed my biggest DIY's through the help of this store's staff. Great selection of specialty and trade hand tools. You can't put a price on getting the the right tools to get a job done.

We were inquiring/trying to buy a door at this store on Sat Oct, 24. We talked to associate and showed him the door we wanted to buy & told him about the size of the opening & checked with him about the door that we were gonna buy. We asked him about installation by homedepot & he set us online so that a contractor will call estimate. Also the doors were on special rate he mentioned not to wait for the estimate and purchase the door. So we ended up going to a closer-to-home branch at st. Clair and Keele & bought the door so contractor can come and give us an estimate. Contractor called yesterday & once he found out that we have bought the door he said he couldn't install it since they install what they deliver and they don't even install that type of door that we bought. (Masonite 34" RH) as he cannot warranty it. & he mentioned we should have got 36" door. Called the store 3 time and so far I was told that someone will call me back and no one has. The manager hung up on me last time I called,. I called again and they say they will call me back. so unprofessional

Some of the staff have absolute garbage customer service skills at this location...I went to get a small cut of carpet and it took over 15 minutes to find someone and he essentially passed the buck over to someone else. Unfortunately, I had to go back the next day since I measured incorrectly. The same guy was setting up some hardwood display . Wanting to avoid this staff member, I went to the next isle and asked for help thinking the other person would be better. Super staff - compared to that "other hardware store" near Fairview. Their construction materials (2-bys, sheathing, etc.) are the same as anywhere else - shop around. Regarding other reno items (flooring, plumbing, lighting, etc.), the quality varies from poor -to- average (basically IKEA quality products). Two important notes: The Pointe-Claire store has very limited selection, compared to the St-Henri or Vaudreuil stores, secondly, the Pointe-Claire store typically stocks the most expensive version(s) of products (e.g. nails, screws, fixtures, plumbing tees, etc.).

The staff are pretty much always easy to find, are willing to help, and are generally knowledgeable in the section in which they work. Usually they will go beyond the basics with you and explain in detail which products you'll need for a given job. The exception is often the weekends - I get the impression their weekend staff is part-time and not as comfortable with the products they sell. Prices are pretty good, and their inventory usually matches what they advertise online.

REVIEW REGARDING Tile Installation by National Installations that Home Depot contracted for our Bathroom tile project. We had two bathroom floors done, one wall floor to ceiling in one bathroom and all walls, floor to ceiling in the second bathroom. It took National Installations EIGHT proposals to get the it right. We likely should have taken that as a hint as to what may happen with the actual installation. My husband had to continually fax it back with corrections. They continually had errors on their quotes. Finally after the eighth try then discussions with Home Depot about their NI's continued errors on the dimensions and necessary amount of materials, they said they would refund anything that wasn't used. So we just went ahead and accepted the ninth quote, so we could get on with it. This took almost two months and we wanted the project done ! Although the installers were certainly pleasant enough, the final job was less than satisfactory. After the first few tiles were installed we noticed that they had installed some tiles right at the doorway that looked like they were dirty or had marks on them that most of the other tiles did not. We asked the installers if they come across any more to put them under the vanity, behind the toilet or any other places they would not be noticed or to not use them at all. To which they agreed. (They never did move the offending tile). However ... such was not the case. They continued to install flawed or damaged tiles in places that were very noticeable. One tile was so bad it felt like it had sand or some other aggregate all over it. Yet they actually installed it in a place that we immediately noticed. We had to INSIST they re-do that tile. Which after calling their HQ, they did. When they did replace it, the grout was a different and to us, noticeable colour. Which they basically poo pooed. We also found tiles that were cut crooked and some ceiling damage. We had to do major clean up nightly during the project so we didn't bring the mess into other areas of the house. As our two bathroom are connected by a pocket door, we had to have one available at all times for their use - as per the contract - which was fine as they were going to take a few weeks for the project (they were doing more than our project at the same time) we needed a usable bathroom as well. They used our front walkway to cut the tiles and left white stains all over it near our front entrance. Although they did 'clean up', I'm not sure they passed the "leave the customers home clean and the shape it was in" course. We contacted Home Depot who then had National Installations contact us. After explaining all our issues, the owner eventually came a month later, to look at our concerns, The local owner of National Installations agreed with all our concerns but did point out that the tile flaws were not their responsibility - to which we agreed but advised we had asked them NOT to install damaged or flawed tiles. We also advised him that when we showed the installers the flawed tiles they installed, they told us that another customers had told them that as well with the same tiles! (so why would you not be paying attention to the possibility of flaws???) He did say they would contact us to discuss how we wanted the extremely damaged tiles replaced or what we would want done. We have not heard back since .... FOUR MONTHS and still not a word! NEVER AGAIN, WOULD WE HIRE NATIONAL INSTALLTIONS. And if that is who Home Depot insists on using, then Home Depot doesn't get the business either. And that is where we purchased all materials for the project. As well, we upgraded everything in both bathrooms, as all the old appliances etc were 25 years old. Shower heads, shower door, toilets, vanities, mirrors, faucets and all the plumbing parts to install those items (we demo'd and installed everything ourselves other than the actual tiles)

This review is purely based on the knowledge of floor staff. Every once in a while you get someone who actually knows what they are talking about, but most times you get stuck with someone who is essentially oblivious and out to lunch. Case and point, I went in just the other day to grab an extension cable that is specific for a particular light bar, but couldn't find, and the first guy I talked to just disappeared immediately after saying he would help me, then the second guy couldn't understand what I was talking about and told me to just buy a roll of 18 gauge wire and splice it in myself. Can I do it? Yes, but that's not the point. The point is he was clueless even when I physically showed him what I was talking about on a similar, but incompatible, product. This isn't a one time thing either.

Always a good place to go when you want to overhear somebody trying to explain technical work to a non-expert. ie, explaining to a housewife how to install an engineered beam and pour footings for point loads. home depot cured my alopecia! true story, i was in the chilliwack location shopping for rope, duct tape and gloves and made the mistake of ducking under the barricade of an aisle that had been cordoned off for safety. i was selecting some beautiful lime green double braided rope when a spool of aviation cable bonked me on the head, sending me unconscious into a stack of boxed chain. i guess some boxes landed on me, because i lay there unconscious for the better part of 2 days and went completely unnoticed by staff until i awoke and tried to free myself. to their credit, when i was noticed, staff members were quick to provide first aid in the form of fluids and some spill absorption material (after 2 days out cold i had soiled myself something terrible), as well as giving me a 5% discount on my entire purchase! a few days later i noticed new hair growth. my doc says the prolonged exposure to the zinc coating on the galvanized chain is most likely what kick started the hair growth. today i am hairy as the back of chewbacca's hand, and i owe it all to the big box retailer, home depot. 5 out of 5!

Stores have there PROs and CONs, From past expireance and trips I have found the fallowing. PROs: Compared to other stores in the area home depot has better quality lumber the spruce plywood is smooth and in good shape compared to RONA. Some staff can be helpful and are polite, I was waiting for wood to be cut the dude that was cutting it was his first day back, he was vary professional he did some math to plan the best way to cut the wood for what I need. while I was waiting a latter asked him if he need a hand and as she was leaving said thank you for your patients and tolled me it was his first day back and he was sill getting used to the saw, CONs: Some staff can be rude and assume things or argue with you. I was looking to buy drill bits to dill holes in wood for screws, the guy I asked for help to find the right drill bits for my older drill seamed usurpation and like I was questioning his knowledge, he also assumed that I did not have a lot of money on me his comment was "Drill bits are quite expensive" after I said that I had $200.00 on me he invested more time to help but with a bit an attitude like I was wasting his time still. ____ Overall if you are looking for good wood or products then its a good place to go, but don't expect all staff to be nice or professional when it comes to asking for advice or help, If you feel like you are being miss treated you can always go to someone else to get the manage to look in to it.

I went into this store today with a simple DIY project in mind, and was requiring some advice on product options. I waited patiently for assistance from a sales associate who was assisting another customer. At the same time a few other customers approached also needing assistance. The sales associate who offered to help me, was less then professional. At no time was eye contact made, she made no attempt to be courteous or polite. The comment was rudely made "Great, I can already tell its going to be one of those days." I personally work in retail and would see an abundance of customers as job security, profits and time filling. I was made to feel as though my needs were unimportant and an annoyance. What that associate did not know is that I am commencing a substantial home renovation, and although my purchase may have seemed menial today; her poor customer service or lack there of has helped me to decide to take my renovation budget to a competitor store where good customer service is a standard practice. I suggest implementing training for sales associates to learn how to treat customers as they truly are the heart of any business.

While the service was okay. I was not pleased with there sales technique. I needed a dishwasher and found one on sale. We where working out a price for payment when i inquired about putting in on my truck he told no they would deliver it and it was $50 for dilevery. I said i dont need it deliverd i can just put it on my truck. He said no i have to pay $50 for delivery its there policy. If thats the case there policy should include the dilvery fee in there price up front not when your getting your total at the end. I dont like wasting my time and feel its a bit of a sneaky move to get an extra $50 in the end. So when the salesman says i have to pay a deliver fee. Um no i dont ill shop else where thanks.

The store is generally clean and decently stocked (though I find Burl-Oak or Missisauga has greater inventory at times) Your experience here will depend a lot on who you deal with, I have been several times as it is local. Unfortunately, I have to say that nearly every time I require assistance in this store, some staff avoid eye contact, while some are simply incompetent in the area they are supposed to be working in. Booking a carpet installation was painful, and the girl asked me why I didn't just do it myself as she struggled to book the measure and place the order. Actually, because the area was small enough that I couldn't buy the tools for the price of the install - not that my reasons mattered. I'm sure there must be lots of good people that work there, but likely they work during the day-shift dealing mostly with professionals. I would like to add, that DAN is a saving grace in this place. Three times I've been there with no help from other people, he has been the one I've bee able to approach, and helps me find what I'm looking for, or makes a good suggestion, regardless of what area he is supposed to be working in at the time. He is an asset to the store and deserves to be recognized for it.

Could service get any worse than this? Problem after problem, missing items not sent, useless "associates" for whom one needs a translator in many cases. Put on hold over and over when I need to reorder the parts they lost, and finally (I leave the best until last) the following conversation: This took place after I'd walked around the entire store and not found anyone to help. Finally I found a group of three men discussing some "do" they were going to and not faintly interested in helping me.. Me "Can you show me where the string is please?" Guy#1 "String?" Guy #2 (snicker) Me, smiling sweetly: "Yes, string, you know, the stuff you tie things up with?" Guy #1 "Oh STRING! No, we don't have any." Me: "You are a hardware store and you don't carry string?" Guy #2 "We aren't really a hardware store." Me: "Thank you for your help." I am now awaiting a call back from an associate regarding an item I need for my bath, called an "air push body assembly." I spent 10 minutes trying to get a woman to understand I would like this to be ordered. After listening to me and repeating the item name over and over to herself, she announced she would put me through to someone else. The someone else answered and promptly cut me off. This place is beyond useless, I tell you!

I experienced exceptional customer service from this store and from the Squamish Store. I had been searching in vain for a Christmas train for my first new Grandson for 2 years and it was sold out everywhere every time I tried to get one. This year though there were 2 way out in Squamish. I was able to purchase it over the phone but would have to wait for it to be shipped to Park Royal Home depot which was closest to me. The manager from Park Royal Home depot happened to be in Squamish while I was on the phone trying to get the train, and he offered to hand deliver it himself from Squamish to his store for me the same day and I was able to pick it up immediately in time for Christmas. I was wished a wonderful Christmas to my family and new Grandson :) It set the tone for the rest of Christmas. :)

This store struggles to provide reasonable customer service. Do not order anything from the store unless you want to be left in the dark for days on end wondering what happened. I ordered an item to be transferred from another store. They never called me back and when I phoned days later they couldn't locate the product. Eventually they realized that they sold my product to someone in the store! Unbelievable.

Buyer Beware. Brutal Service. I ordered a washing machine from home depot park royal July 5 as they said I would have it delivered to my door Sunday the 12th. This was sooner than the competitors so I chose to go with them. July 12th past, then it was the week of July 12th. Then I called in again, and it was the 20th, then the 24th for sure. Then I was told it was backordered??? But was told it had shipped so I would have it by the 31st of July for sure. Then I was told as Monday the 3rd of August was a holiday, I would have it on the 4th for sure. Its August 6th now and still nothing. Its really hard to not have a washing machine for over a month especially with kids. Every time I called in I would bounce around the auto receptionist and get transferred to different departments for at least 10 minutes before I would speak to the department head of store manager. I was always the one having to call in and ask for the delivery date as no one their own accord. The proverbial straw was after waiting on the phone for over an hour today, someone finally picked up the other end and hung up the phone immediately. I don't know what else to do, I been given 7 different delivery dates which I've stayed home that day to be here for the delivery, spoken with the managers, still no updates or washing machine. If you need an appliance in a hurry I don't recommend this store...

Recently had a fantastic experience with this store - everyone was extremely helpful and the manager Norm of the paint department made it one of the most pleasurable dealings I've had in a long time, and this was a $700 order - filled to perfection. very disappointed on the insensitive and condescending service i received today form the ass. manager, Fraiser, at home depot in Belleville Ontario today. I am surprised that the returns desk associate dons't know the store policy and instead made me wait 20 mins just to be sent home with no help from the ass. manager. Seems like he just made a new return policy while he stood there looking down on me. hummm....... Because of the lack of help i did receive from Fraiser, I promise to never step foot in home depot Belleville location again and instead go out of my way where I am sure my busines will be appreciated.

I phoned them to see if they would price match something, I explained everything to her and she said it would be no problem because the prices were similar however the name was different. The lady on the phone said as long its very comparable and its not a huge price difference than its ok! I phoned first so I didnt have to drive all the way out there for nothing as i live far away. When I got the the staff were talking to me like I was a idiot!! and they would never price match something unless its the exact same thing. (that's why I phoned first) i mentioned that i called because i didnt want to drive out and not be able to get and she like YEAH WELL NO! in a very rude and ignorant tone!!! everytime i would try and say something she kept No nope no LIKE could you please just listen i wasn't asking a question!

Had a few questions and was very busy to ask them when we were at the store. Gave them a quick call and spoke with a product knowledge specialist in the Kitchen / Bath department named Steve. Steve was able to answer all of my questions about custom orders, provide a basis of cost estimate, and let me know when the best time to come in if we had any other follow-up questions. I was looking at spray paint and an employee rudely walked up and placed himself between me and the paint to look for a product for another customer. The customer that was with him looked over to me with an apologetic face. I said "I wasn't looking at anything important" and walked away in disgust. I was planning on buying a few items but the urge to spend left me at that point.. I remember when "Aikenheads" first opened years ago and their was much better customer service back then. When a regular walks in with the intent to purchase over 2,000 dollars in laminate flooring and underlay, certain staff members shouldn't take for granted that all customers are aware of the contractor-targeted "Pro" program (flyer applicable to contractor accounts only). Insinuating that a customer is 'confused' and 'poorly informed' could lead to lost sales, negative reviews, and even worse, dissatisfied customers not returning. Home Depot has miles to go on staff attitudes and service manners at this location. For now, this shopper turned to a major competitor for his flooring needs -and received respectful and professional treatment from sales staff-. I will definitely think twice before taking my business to Home Depot Orangeville, and will only do so after exhausting all other options.

Unbelievably unprofessional. I paid almost 300$ for a straight bar top (particle board and laminate) and supplied exact measurements. When receiving my special order there were mistakes up 1/4" making it useless. I called in and began to discuss these details and the persons #1 response was "I don't know". When I told them about what measurements I needed and added up for them the surface area 7.5" and each lip (2 overhanging) being .75" for a total of 9" they said again "I don't know I can't do measurements" then literally said "I just push orders though". No refund, no help and got nothing out of 300$

Another associate called the person from plumbing and was on break. This associate asked me to wait 15 minutes. What kind of service was this? There should be someone knowledgeable to cover someone's break; if not a manager/supervisor. Someone else was located and this person offered very unfriendly service. On February 14, 2016 around 6 pm, I showed him, Nick (tall person with no glasses), the part number and detailed information. Nick said that there was none on stock. I was at the store a few times and there were two kinds so I just need to get correct part number. There were no mentioned of none in stock. I did get correct part number and Nick did not even check and said that there were none. He did not even called to check. Nick demonstrated very unprofessional service and poor customer service. I will NEVER go back to this location. I found my item at other hardware store so it is a SHAME that this occurred in a major retail chain. I will check other hardware stores as preferred choice over Home Depot.

Poor product.... but exceptional customer service made up for it! I purchased a cantilever umbrella from the wyecroft oaville location over a year ago. The umbrella snapped in half during a family bbq last week so I called the home depot call center for assistance. The call centre did nothing to assist and did nothing to address my concerns. I decided to show up in store and discuss them matter with customer service. The first supervisor came over and suggested it was not a store issue and explained that I would have to deal with the manufacturer if the product was older then 3 months. Not good. I was upset to say the least and shocked by the fact that HD was not willing to stand behind their product especially when it could have resulted in serious injury. I was very upset, demanded a manager, and have to admit, I became quite beligerent. Ali, a manager in customer service, attempted to calm the situation and demonstrated the type of skills that separate HD from others in the home improvement category. Ali's level headed approach and professionalism was calming and allowed us to work through a solution. Although I am not pleased with the quality of the cantilever umbrella I purchased. Ali did all the right things to ensure that this loyal Home depot shopper will continue to shop at the Home Hepot. Thank you Ali!

I prefer this home depot to some of the others. Believe me I've been to every one of them west of Toronto. We've moved to this area about a year ago, now this HD at Davidson is closer to us than the Burloak location. No issues at all with customer service ( in either of the locations) I find the staff are all helpful. Only issue with this store is stock levels. I have found that this store seems to often have low stock levels of many items, from millwork to electrical to plumbing, so many times they don't have one or more of the things we need in Stock, so we have to go to another store. Otherwise the store is fine, but inventory levels seem to be an issue in this store.

There are so many reasons that Home Depot will get my business, every single time. I have visited this location on several occasions, each time to seek help, advice, and supplies for many projects that I've wished to tackle. Almost always, I had no idea where to start or how to accomplish it. Often, I haven't even known which tools or hardware were appropriate for the job. Every step of the way, there was an expert close-by to assist me. They were incredibly patient, and despite a boat-load of questions that I continuously had, they never made me feel like I was bothering them or that they had something more important to do. I live on the other side of the city, and I continue to venture out on the 30-minute bus ride, instead of going to the Canadian Tire (on Stone Road) which is 5 minutes from my home. The employees at Home Depot truly are experts, and are always present in the store. Every time I've had a question, an orange apron hasn't been far away. The individuals in each department are extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of their field, and can sometimes even offer professional advice in other departments as well. I have found that if an associate is unable to answer your question (as has been the case only a couple of times out of many), they will not lend advice unless they are confident in it's validity. They refuse to steer you in the wrong direction in a subject area in which they are not an expert, and won't abandon your request until they have solved your problem. They do this by seeking help from associates, checking online, or even doing product comparisons to get you on the right track. A very important trait that I have noticed among Home Depot's magnificent employees is that they never push any products on you. When you ask for the product you need, they will be straight and honest, and even recommend the least expensive option required to complete the task at hand. I love shopping there, and recommend it to ANYONE looking to take on a project at home, at work, or simply seek advice. Home Depot is definitely the place to shop.

Horrible customer service in Guelph store and management is clueless. Went in to have a kitchen designed. Strange looking woman sat with us and took all our drawings with measurements and noted the cabinets we wanted and countertop. She kept trying to sell us style we did not want and insulted us for what we liked. She insisted we pay an install measure fee - we wanted an estimate first. She never called us a week later as promised with answer to questions about changes to cabinetry or an estimate. We called them, another designer said there was nothing drawn for us in the computer yet. Manager said she would find our new design and send it. Week later no call back and no design. We went to store, the designer woman said she was busy with a client . We spoke to manager and were told she would have the design sent that night. Design sent was ugly and wrong layout and estimated price was crazy with a 2-3 month delivery time for cabinets and 2 months for contertop after that. Nobody told us it would be so long to be installed. The worst experience ever. There was a guy there a couple years ago that designed a kitchen for us in two days and he was amazing with lots of good ideas for flooring, paint, appliances, sink and lighting. Cabinetry price was too high then so we waited. We went back to see him this time, but were told he was fired. The strange designer woman seemed quite pleased about that. They seem to keep all the lazy and rude staff and the nice helpful staff are fired? We went to Barzotti and have been treated like royalty, love their design and 2 months for everything to be installed. Amazed Horror Depot is still in business - if I treated my clients like they do, I would be bankrupt!

I bought a lot from this store. There are employees there who genuinely try to help you and some that are just in it for the up-sell. Sadly I have had to remove one star because of a recurring issue. If the salesperson looks old crusty and perhaps acts a bit rude, chances are they may give you good advice on what you actually need. If the salesperson in under 30 they will automatically recommend the most expensive product even though there is no rationale for it and a cheaper product may be actually more suitable. It is sad how companies torture and coerce younger people these days ... I guess the old timers just don't care. There is also another recurring issue with Home Depot and I don't know how it can be addressed. One of the best things about Home Depot is that you can easily buy and return items. This gives you the flexibility to experiment and assess a number of solutions, and only keep the one that works best. But sadly this has a downside as people abuse items or they have a manufacturers defect, and they still get put back on the shelf. This is efficient and environmentally friendly but for certain products the defective damaged units build up on the shelves until you are almost guaranteed to get one. An example of this type of product is toilet water supply lines. I bought one, had a very slow leak, returned, bought another one, had an even slower leak, gave up and went to Rona and the very first one worked perfectly with no leaks. The Rona guy thought I was crazy as he was under the impression that these types of units never leak. It may be also that people buy them reef them on as hard as they can, and they leak because they are damaged by this. Its a lose-lose for everyone. Take home message ....easily retuning stuff is very compelling, but it does make buying certain products risky. It can waste a lot of your time. Take Home Message for HD Management 1) When your employees blatantly upsell with no rationale behind it, this permanently damages your reputation. Forget about your sweetheart deals with manufacturers and educate your staff that the right product will make the customer happiest and in the long run make you the most money. 2) Certain items need to be red flagged for returns, and you either need to suck up the loss or refuse returns on these items. Toilet supply water supply lines are one of these items. PS ..... 1 week later and the Rona toilet line didn't leak a single drop of water without any adjustment or re-tightening on the same toilet where 2 Home Depot lines leaked.

She spent time with us to ensure we were provided with all of the options. A more knowledgeable and pleasant sales person I have never met. She is to be congratulated on her professional manner.
