This is a nice large Home Depot therefore it has a full range of stock. I don't know if it's related to store size or what, but, it was difficult for me to find someone to help me find my product. Finally, I just popped over to Lowe's which is a few minutes away by foot.
Literally made spending money at their business difficult. Worst customer service
The service at every Home Depot I've been to is superb. I frequent this location the most and it is no exception. My only complaint about this specific store is that you can't buy your wood and get it cut here because they don't have a wall saw (because they're only leasing the space or something like that) so you have to go to another location. For everything else, I would much rather come here than the hardware store a few doors down.
DH & I were here on Saturday afternoon to kill some time before our 3 pm movie.The store was kinda empty.Could be a result of the Home Depot customer data breach.Every time a staff member saw us they asked 'do you need any help, can I help you find something ?'.This happens at least one dozen times in the 30 mins we spent in the store.It got really annoying.I felt like I was in Future Shop ( where they chase you around the store if they even see that you're interested in something ).Maybe they were practicing good customer service but I just like to be left alone until I need help or it's obvious that I'm searching for something.
One of America's largest home improvement retailer opened chain stores in Canada. The selections are huge, it sells almost everything you use for home improvement.They always have some staffs on the floor to help out the customers, however, they're not all knowledgeable and helpful. Especially this location!My hubby regularly shops at home improvement stores like I shop at supermarkets weekly!We wanted DIY for automatic sprinkler at back yard and side walk. We went to different home depot to get kit and heads due to some stores are out of stock. We asked the staff to help and explain about sprinkler head nozzle adjustment but he had no clue. My hubby was a bit disappointed but he has a good friend to ask (Google). We bought and installed it successfully.
I generally have great experiences when I visit this location. Like all Home Depot locations, their scale is enormous and at times it can be difficult to track down an associate. As soon as you find one though, they are always willing and ready to help. If they don't know the answer, they will wander the aisles for you until they find someone who does. You'll have your parking validated so don't worry about finding parking on the street nearby.I always find the front entrance to be cluttered with buckets containing latest deals, this always makes the story look a little disorganized but overall a satisfactory shopping experience. No qualms with returning items too, big bonus.
Personally my choice would be to do business with a smaller operator but are no smaller operators. This Urban Sized Home Depot has most want a condo dweller needs for basic home repair. Renting Items like Carpet Cleaners and Hand Trucks from this place can be a grand pain in the ass. This Multinational Company and some most circular rental contacts polices I have ever encountered. If you want to rent a drill find out what the replacement cost is before you go out the door. Floor staff are helpful if they know that answer but training levels vary greatly.
It's the only Home Depot I go to; possibly the only Home Depot I know. I'm sure we all know what a Home Depot is, what they sell or what they do. So, this branch is the same. It's clean, organized, well-stocked and not a very large Home Depot, I'm assuming. But I seem to find what I need for home DIY here. Convenient location if you live downtown!
I'm very unsatisfied with the decorating department. I ordered some blinds for my living room and bedroom. The first time the installer came one set of blinds was not measured properly (she blamed the factory which didn't cut it exact), she tried to push it in and dented my wall and scratched the paint off my wall. After many tries she finally gave up, and said will bring this to a local store for a resize. Also mentioned will repaint my wall. The second time (after 1 week) she came back with the "resized" blinds, but still did not fit! She blamed the local shop which probably did not resized it and still call her to pick it up. The 3rd time (after 2 weeks) she came back with the fitted blinds and installed it. And help me painted my walls (but they are still dented) However I found out the insert (top bar/cover for the blinds) was dirty, spotted with a few black marks. She blamed the cutting shop that there's some glue there and they dirtied it. She said will order new ones for me and will come back to install it. Now I have been waiting for more than 1 month for her to come back. Still no news. I called HD few times to file/complain about it. Everytime they say "wait for the job to complete, will reimburse me then" and "will contact the installer to call me". Home Depot promised me will not charge me until the job is done. (I paid 50% of the grand total at the beginning, and suppose to pay the rest when job is done), however, they have already charged me full price. I called and complain about that too, but all they said was the installer said it is completed therefore they charged. They have wasted me over 3 months, just to get my blinds installed, and still not complete yet! Do not even think about their blinds service!!
By far one of the best Home Depots solely for their customer service. Yes, you may have to wait your turn of flag one down , but once you get their attention, it's all you baby. They really go out of their way to help you with every single thing.

Every time I come I find a helpful sales associate that helps me figure something out.Last time a spry mature gentleman helped me choose the best quiet space heater. I wish he was my grandpa he was so cute.Today I needed some special bulbs and a young associate brought me to the spot and helped me choose the right ones.Helpful and amusing. That's how I like to shop!g
This review is based solely on the customer service team, not the selection, quality or beauty of their home products.We recently tried to return a couple of items, one of them we didn't even have the receipt anymore because we had purchased it a while ago and never used it. The girl we spoke to was super helpful, told us that since we didn't have the receipt we would only get a store credit and was that ok with us. Well of course it is, most shops would pretty much tell us to get lost anyway!The item for which we had the receipt was a broken lightbulb that didn't work with our dimmer and started buzzing, so it was pretty much ready for the trash... She refunded us no problem and there we picked up a different lightbulb.WIth service like that, it makes you want to give them business because they don't make a fuss when things go wrong.So there, Home Depot, good job on training your customer service team because we will be back and continue shopping with you.
Delivery is a disaster - I ordered a washer and drier from Home Depot on Cambie. That was two weeks ago. They have contracted out to a third party company for delivery that: 1. Does not deliver in any other window that 9am to 4pm.2. Does not deliver on Sunday. 3. Does not commit to any time. They will give you a 4 hour window but are not bound by it. 4. Your appliances are held hostage by the delivery company. I even tried to pay extra to get them to me. No luck. So, if you are like 90% of the city and can't take an entire day off to wait for a delivery, good luck. My first attempt at delivery (which I hired someone to be there for me) was a disaster because the delivery guy refused to remove a bi-fold door. The second delivery was schedule for first thing this morning (they committed to that) but later told me that it would get there when it got there. "We make no time guarantees."The store blames the contractor. The contractor blames the store. Nobody takes accountability. I have been without a washer or drier for 2 weeks.
I never, in a million years, thought I would write a 2 star for a Home Depot. But here we are. Please note - this review is solely based on rentals, and will not reflect the store in it's entirety.I'm a Home Depot addict. So much so, that I usually require adult supervision when entering. I have a habit of buying three gallons of paint for no apparent reason or convincing myself I need a laser level... every 3 months. So when the occasion arose that I had to rent a power tool - I was tickled pink.The rental prices are good. Not the cheapest as advertised but fair for the equipment. It's always in good shape and the service staff are quick to get you exactly what you need. This was not my first time renting from HD, and all my previous experiences were top notch.So why was this two star? Some time in the last year, they changed their rental policy. You see, I am one of those odd humans who subsist without a credit card. I have a Visa/Debit for online purchases and traveling to the states but there isn't even a back up credit card in this here wallet. That being said, i've never had an issue with it. As more and more people are switching to pre-paid Visas or the Visa/Debit cards, most rental places are good about flexing their rental policies to allow us Visa/Debit toters to put down a deposit.In the last month, I have rented from A&B Party Rentals, A&B Tools, Long & McQuade & Blim without issue. Most of which, was for equipment that was FAR more expensive then the belt sander I had my eye on. Quick deposit down and I'm on my merry way.Even my last experience at HD was easy peasy. But I guess that somewhere along the lines they changed their rental system and you can no longer rent via Visa/Debit. Why?Because they cannot issue a refund via Debit.... though, you can easily do so at the refund/exchange counter...What if I take the refund in cash?... It would be too confusing for the staff.What if I leave a deposit in cash? To pick up on return?... Someone who have to be held accountable, and that's too confusing for the staff.Big sigh.I find it a little absurd that in an era where Visa/Debit is becoming more and more of a norm, they would choose to go BACKWARDS in their system upgrades and deny something that was easily done but a year ago. And with so many other rental places jumping on the band wagon, it seems ridiculous that a big name like HD would not adjust to meet that demand. After a half hour, I left disappointed and empty handed.Wag of the finger home depot.No frivolous paint purchases in the near future for you.

I've been here at least a dozen times and the staff have always been fantastic. They're knowledgeable and been able to help me with anything, whether it's just pointing me in the right direction, or measuring out the proper "L" bracket I need.
Awful customer service. I was redirected to the contractor desk by another home depot employee to inquire about an item that was shown online to be in stock at that store, but no one could find. I walked up to the desk to find 2 associates there wearing "I'm a pro" aprons. There was no other customers around at the moment. I stood there waiting for one of them to make eye contact with me but they didn't, so I said "hi there". Without even looking at me, the guy barks " I'm busy. What do you want? Do you have a quick question?" I was so taken back that I replied, "no, its okay. I will come back later" and left the store. I definitely did not receive "pro" service today.
Sitting in a coffee shop, therefore, taking the time to clear out some of the drafts that have been sitting in my inbox for 4 months of local reviews in attempt to reduce my list one at a time (I have over 60 drafts). This used to be a Canadian tire. I arrived her and to my surprise the name changed. My heart was broken. I have an attachment to CND tire. I wanted to pay cash for tools so that I could get some CT money. I had no choice to come here. Got my tools but no CT money. Service was okay. Items are the same as a CT.
I just bought a fridge here, really, I just did, and even though it's not at my home just yet (as requested by me) I have to give the sales guy, and this store it's due. This is not the closest one to my house, and this is definitely an urban-city Home Depot. Located where all the hustle and bustle of Cambie/Broadway is strategically placed for those who don't have a car, right along a Skytrain line, yet they still have all the big stuff if you have a house.If you buy something here, you can get your parking reimbursed, as it's the same parking lot as that for Save On Foods and Winners. They have everything that other HD's have... from light bulbs, to tiles, to big appliances, and it's pretty easy to find some help lurking around the isles. It's a full on HD just put into a non-warehouse environment.The only beef I have.. and it's not their fault.. but more like their loss prevention.. is the shopping carts which have a mechanism that locks the wheels. Everytime I go.. and I need a cart, it's hard to find.. and when I find one.. it's impossible to move cause someone probably tried to take the thing off premises.. and the wheels are locked up, and impossible to move.. like a cave man rolling a cart with square wheels.One of the places I've used to buy pieces and parts for the current renovation going on. If you really walk around sometimes you find good deals... like my fridge.. as it was a display model, and luckily for me.. they can keep it there.. only for a short time.. before they ship it to me.. as I need to get the floor done before this new beauty comes. Good service, and convenient......
The people here want to be very helpful.But if you get any flooring installed from Home Depot double-check all quotes. Sometimes they have several people working on your order with the potential for huge mix ups. A big mistake was made on two quotes sent to me. I finally asked a woman in Installations (who seemed to understand what I wanted) to do the third quote (!) herself and not pass it on to anyone else to finish up.
Zero stars for lack of consistency within the chain and rude staff. Plus one star because yelp forces me to. I was going to buy a bunch of stuff, totaling around $200. I was entering the store with my dog when a girl at the returns counter stopped me and said - in a very insincere tone, "I'm sorry, we don't allow animals in the store." Um so basically I'm supposed to take more than an hour out of my day to drop my dog off and come back to Home Depot for the privilege of spending money there? That is not how you run a business or treat your customers. My dog goes with me to the Home Depot stores in the US all the time, and he's always welcome and receives lots of attention and love from the people who works there, so I assumed it would be the same here (I also couldn't see any "no pets allowed" near the entrance, which would have saved me the humiliation), it's not like my dog decides to shit all over the store in Canada as opposed to in the US stores or anything like that. I was like, "well, what am I supposed to do?" (obviously tying him outside which is a very busy intersection with lots of foot traffic is NOT an option) and she replied "I don't know" in a very annoyed tone. Home Depot clearly didn't want my money and I can't wait to be across the border where the staff is friendly and my dog is welcome. It sucks that I have to spend one of the last days in this beautiful city on finding another place to get the things that I need last minute, but I'm not spending money in a place with rude staff and dumb policies.

Had a few questions and was very busy to ask them when we were at the store. Gave them a quick call and spoke with a product knowledge specialist in the Kitchen / Bath department named Steve. Steve was able to answer all of my questions about custom orders, provide a basis of cost estimate, and let me know when the best time to come in if we had any other follow-up questions. Made my life very easy; Home Depot continues to be my first choice for no-nonsense inquiries and quick direct service in the area. Thank-you Steve.

Good choice of product, helpful staff and good prices. The big thing for me with any of these stores is their return policy. HD deserves 6 stars for this. No arguments, even without a receipt. Staff always courteous even when I try to take stuff back from other stores.
This store has the most useless and incompetent staff I have ever come across in a big box store. At the till of purchasing over $3000 worth of DeWalt FlexVolt tools an inadequately trained cashier VOIDED a debit transaction and sent $1500 of my money into LIMBO. It has been 7 days and the money has not been returned to my account nor have I been offered compensation for the 30 days I will be without the money that was lost. The manager named "Guy" is the least helpful and unqualified manager I have come across. He has said and done nothing except "there is nothing we can do". So I left the store $1500 lighter in the bank account and no tools to show for it. Avoid this store at all cost and do any shopping you can at LOWES or elsewhere as LOWES staff will do everything in their power to make you happy unlike "Guy" at home depot. Such a disappointment.
I went in last minute looking for a carpet for the London Home Show and I dealt with a gentleman (Rick) and his service was 5 stars.
I highly recommend anyone looking for carpeting to go in there and speak with him.

Well the tattood girl likes to role her eye and not help poeple. Ill never come here again. Its not even busy and there are people walking around mad they cant get help. And any one I talk to just points. I complained and I got oh well.
Poor customer service at this location. I always visit the Fanshawe Park location and receive great customer service. I went to this location after being told they still have mulch in stock I needed. They told me they would pull it in from the parking lot and to come back in 15 minutes. I hung around the area waiting, returned to be told rudely by one of the male seasonal employees that when I was told by the other Home Depot there was some at this location it was a lie and they don't have any. So not only did I waste a bunch of my time waiting around for these people, they were extremely rude about it. They need to be better informed in regards to their stock, and how to treat their customers.

This is the closest location to me so I was always shopping here.
I purchased "BEHR PRO i100 Series, Interior Paint Dead Flat - White Base, 18.96 L" untinted. The color is not pure white. Has a gray tint to it. I checked the website and it says no returns on tinted paint. When I tried returning this paint, the lady refused and was dismissive. Told me that I should have expected this from the cheaper paint. They are stupid because now I'm avoiding this store for other reno purchases. The Fanshawe location took the paint back and I've been buying from them since.
Went in for some lighting and the sales guy was super knowledgable. Gave me a full demo of several different types of bulbs too, was pretty cool.

The employees here are friendly and helpful. Great selection of most home improvement items. Returns are a breeze. Parking is plentiful. Less busy than the other locations.
Alright for pre-summer flowers pots / mother's and father day gifts as well. Paint is the best here but can quit expensive for a gallon, esp. when you need 4 or 5 ... that is all it really serves my self and sole purpose for heading over to the big box store ...'Name Depot., ... friendly folk though ...
Usually a pretty good selection, whether it be seasonal to lumber. Some of the staff need to learn their jobs better as they give wrong advice or just don't know.
No Complain at all I have every tings in this store. Friendly, knowledge and helpfully staff.
They have all my home building needs and actually cut the wood for me to make jobs easier. I recommend taking advantage of this cutting service to save you time!

My husband and daughter went to buy some paint that my daughter had chosen for her bedroom. There were two clerks assisting another customer who was deciding on a stain colour. While my husband and daughter were standing there, another customer came. One of the clerks then began assisting him, even though she had plainly seen my husband and daughter! Then another customer came along and was also served by the same clerk, who continued to ignore my husband and daughter. It was pretty obvious who was there first and there was no reason for such poor service. My husband was patient up to the time the second customer was served and he was again ignored. He and my daughter left in disgust and bought the paint elsewhere. After such poor customer service, we won't be going to Home Depot again.
I can't say enough good things for this store. I feel like going back as the staff are all so helpful. An example is I went today for garden soil and the layout is so customer friendly. Carts were lined up neatly outside by parking area. Bags of assorted soils were neatly arranged in stacks on pallets outside. I was able to load what I needed, enter the store & make my purchase. A greeter was inside the door to direct customers to the area that had the goods asked for. The clerk asked me if I needed help to load my purchase. I will continue to go back to this location as they also have such good stock on hand.
The worst place to work for. You are not treated as a person. The Store manager is often not at the store, so there is little leadership. Assistant store managers all have their own agenda's so there is no clear direction day to day. Any idea is squashed as it has not come from an assistant store manager, and you are told to keep quiet during reviews and express no ideas of your own. Employees are often avoided, or shuffled to other teams when there are performance issues. You are required to be available at least 20 hrs. a week part time, but a corporate policy is to reduce peoples hours to 4 a week, to get staff to quit so they do not have to lay anyone off, or fire them.
I called on 2 different days and asked for the price on the drywall nd the insulation bag I was transffered like 10 times between departments and wa not given the price. Then the guy said ou know what just go to our website and youll see it and it wasnt there. Thy wre soooo lazy o go yo the shelf and check the price for me.

Disorganized and employees are disfunctional. Wanted to buy a very expensive air conditioner and just to get help I had to yell for assistance, everyone I asked for help didnt know anything about anything. Poor management poor staff. Oh ya I didn't buy the air conditioner there.
I called the lawn/garden department and spoke with a sales associate. I wanted to know if they had two specific trees in store. She refused to check for me and said come in and see. Your in the store, you work there, why can't you go and check for me? Why do I have to waste my time and gas to look for trees that you might not have. It would have taken the seasonal associate the most 10 minutes of her time.I had better experience in store with the plumbing and hardware department. I think the seasonal associates just have bad customer service.
Cashiers are miserable as usual. Sales associates on the floor are getting younger with very little experience. Good luck finding help when you need it. Walked the hardware aisles 2xs looking for something, gave up when i saw 4 -5 workers chatting amongst themselves. What happened to the old guys? The ones with experience, who actually enjoyed their jobs.
Was there just yesterday for a few different things, we had a few associates come up to us and asked if we needed help. The two gentleman that helped was extremely nice and went above and beyond to make our experience a great one.
I always get good advices from this store. The staffs actually walk around and ask if you need help. This is especially true for the Plumbing section.
This is the newest location in Brampton. The selection and service are slightly better than the Brampton North store but not as good as the Brampton South location. The service desk staff needs to be retrained. Management is never available and useless when you finally reach them.

Best service I have ever had at any home improvement store in my 9yrs living in the calgary area. Was a very busy Saturday and a knowledgeable young man stayed with us for nearly 45mins helping us with a dropped ceiling and other supplies. We didn't even have to ask for help. He walked up and offered assistance, yes offered assistance.
He knew the products and when he did not know the answer to something was happy to say he did not know but would find someone that did.
worst experience mot of time, no one is available in specialty department if we have some specific question about product, and recently I saw one item on website it says only at okotoks store, call for availability it's limited stock on 8th august, I called on same day to store to check availability, some one from customer service kept me on hold for 10 minutes and asked my number to call back me after checking stock, I did not get call until 11th aug, then I called to talk with store manager about experience, manager was not in store so left message to call me back , but till 16th aug I did not call back and still shows on website that itema has limited stock , so finally I have to stop by to check availability, I think we need Lowes/Rona in Okotoks

Terrible. Every time I go here to get something custom or installed its a nightmare.
My most recent experience involves a garage door installation. I paid for it back in early Dec. It is now Feb and I still don't have a date to have the install completed. I have dealt with 3 different companies who are supposed to do the install and they keep no showing or not following up.
I call home depot and they act like they have no idea what is going on. Today I am going in request a refund for the garage doors and the install fees. I have already paid for and its been over 2 months and nothing has happened and I still don't have an install date. THANKS for wasting my time.
This is a new Home Depot and it already seems run down. My experience today is a familiar one with this location. Today, I attempted to purchase tools, and left the store empty handed in frustration. Seeking a way to make my purchase, I found not one staff manned till in the entire store. Reluctantly, I attempted the self-checkout as a last attempt. Ironically, the over-ambitious machine was calling for staff assistance. With no staff to be found, I realized the simplest, easiest and most obvious choice I had, was to abandon the merchandise, leave the store, and head straight for Canadian Tire. This is what I did, and to no surprise, I had a much better and more reliable shopping experience.
I have just had an unbelievably bad experience with Home Depot--Their service in kitchen appliances is unacceptable! And further, their personable are disinterested in problems regarding delivery! Never order on line though Home Depot as they will not support a problem with the machine!!

While I have been here many times, I went in recently to do a reno on my garage which involved drywalling which I had never done before.
A staff person found the best staff to talk to me and they took a good 15 minutes explaining everything I would need, what to look out for and gave some good tips along the way.
9 times out of 10 I end up going to Langford or Nanaimo because they never seem to have anything in stock that I need.
Great store. Knowledgeable staff always go out of their way to help. But prices are creeping up. Shop around.
Let me tell you a tale of absolute and utter frustration, and in my humble opinion of poor service, bad product, dishonest employees and bad management. That has been my experience with this home depot. My wife and planned for granite counter tops for some time and were excited when the time arrived that we could afford it. Our search led us to home depot in Duncan in May where we were reassured of an install time that fit our schedule and we would receive the support of a national chain. we felt confident that we had made the right choice. WHAT A MISTAKE. We made other significant purchases at the same time as we were doing some face lifting at home. One was an expensive special order carpet. The whole experience with Home Depot started going south when we were advised that the crew that would measure the counters wouldn't be there as promised but would be delayed several days. What turned out to be a few days delay resulted in counters not being installed until mid July. The service people that installed them broke the cupboards in the process and shrugged it off by saying they were' just laminate anyway". It turns out Home Depot use an off island supplier who delayed the install to fit there schedule. If I had known the granite and labor were coming from off island I would have opted to use one of the many competent local suppliers. My neighbor did and got his counter in two weeks. Mine took three months. Home Depot held up the whole Reno project and resulted in a damaged kitchen. When I called to complain to the home depot employee responsible for organizing the trades people and the work I was reassured that she would talk to the manager and it would be made right. I never heard from them again. The carpet finally arrived and it was cut crooked. No surprise. MY ADVISE IS NOT TO USE HOME DEPOT IF YOU CAN GO ANYPLACE ELSE. THEY BREAK THEIR PROMISE, WERE DISHONEST IN THEIR DEALINGS WITH ME AND I WOUND UP WITH INFERIOR SERVICE AND PRODUCT.IF YOU CAN GIVE A LOCAL TRADE THE BUSINESS YOU WILL BE FAR BETTER OFF. I am still waiting for the manager to make it right and it has been 3 months since I was promised it would happen. I am still waiting. But I have a happy neighbor. Big chains clearly do not care. This one anyways. They have lost their orange or never had it.

Excellent service de la part des employés. Contrairement à beaucoup d'autres bannières de quincailleries/centres de rénovations, il est facile de trouver un conseiller sur le plancher. Ils ont le plus grand choix d'outils à Trois-Rivières. Cependant, comme quelqu'un d'autre a mentionné précédemment, la location d'outils n'est pas compétitive au niveau des prix avec ce que l'on peut trouver ailleurs dans le coin.
I enjoy checking out their variety of items with my wife and dreaming of projects. I imagine that someone who actually owns a house would get more out of it, though.

Stood at the contractors desk to check out and the lady at the "pro" counter was talking and talking, min 20 minutes, to the guy checking out. I just stood there in total disbelief that they were talking and talking, some about personal stuff, while other customers were waiting. Unbelievable! This just happened today at approx 3pm.
It's home depot what can I say! It's pretty new and large. That's about it.
I had paid for installation services for laminate flooring on August 8, 2014, today's date is August 31 and my floors are still not complete. Not to mention the flooring to be done is over estimated at 800 square ft. which to be honest there is no acceptable reason to why my floors have taken this long.
The contractor doing the installation doesn't bother calling to say he is not showing nor shows when he says he is. Also at one point when the contractor lost his wallet he did obviously call we looked through everything for him and let him know there was no wallet. He then didn't bother showing up the next day to complete any work but felt it appropriate to knock on my door and ask my son what he did with the contractors wallet.
I literally have only one vent cover that actually fits in the floor as he didn't bother to measure for the rest as well he didn't fix my front door properly and my children and I had to sleep in an apartment with a door that would not shut or close which is a HUGE SAFETY RISK. The quarter round isn't cut properly nor is it fitting against the wall or nailed down.
I had to call the store and speak with managers on many occasions just to get the contractor working on the floors. I even at one point had to call the contractor to find out he was "calling it a day"
Overall my experience has been a complete disaster and if I would've known that paying for services through Home Depot I would've booked the time off work and done the work myself. And while my children and I wait for the work to be completed we have been living out of one corner out of the apartment and for this long is unacceptable.
I would recommend other flooring companies.
M&P flooring came on request to take a look and provide me with a free estimate under the circumstances and their contractor LAUGHED at the Home Depots contractor and stated that even if he just did one or two hours a day on the floors and milked it as much as he could it would've only taken him SIX days....now...as I am completely exhausted and unable to sleep comfortably in my own apartment and stressed to the nines on this whole situation with no compensation other then "aww" or "I was understanding it would've taken a couple of days" I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND HOME DEPOT INSTALLATION SERVICES. On a better note....the product is good....service sucks!

I will admit we experienced issues in the beginning of our relationship but when I brought my concerns to the right people, changes were made and I learned at that time I had changes to make within my operations.

I called on May 14 regarding a barbecue listed in the local flyer, I had an associate named Sawyer, ask me the model # he then stated that they were outside and he would have to look and see how many they had, he would then call me back.
Less than 10 minutes later he called and confirmed they had approx. 12 in stock, I then asked him how do I go about purchasing one to be picked up at a later date. he provided the answered to all of my questions in a very professional manner. I went down a couple of hours to pay for my purchase the customer reps at the desk were very frantic, but also processed my purchase wonderfully. I picked my barbecue up two days later, although it took approx. 15 minutes to secure someone from seasonal for the carryout of my barbecue, all went smoothly. Great Service~!!
Service is terrible, Wanted to order a garage door. They didnt want to order it. They checked stock and had another type in stock. That actually wasnt in stock so they sold me another type with no windows but it wasnt what i wanted and didnt come with half the hardware the other one did. 3 hours spent in the store that day. two stars for good prices.
Very bad service! Wanted to buy glass shower doors and no employee in store knew anything about the 10% discount. After waiting and waiting they located the manager? Crystal who tried to find every loophole to not to honor the 10%. She finally agreed and with the curbside delivery!!!!!! The delivery men do not go in peoples houses ( Crystals words). So if I pay for delivery, I sure want my showerdoors inside my house,not in the curb! So we will be shopping in a store with knowledge and service,NOT at Home Depot Thunder Bay.
Worst customer service ever!
Waiting 11 months for windows panes, to be replaced on my front door and sidelight pkg we purchased at Home Depot. One year old only and waiting almost a full year to get it fixed!
This store has no real management to keep up on problems within the store.

We ordered a bathroom vanity top on special order on December I. We were given December 16 as an ETA. We checked on December 16, were told it will be December 19. We went on December 19 and were told it will be December 23! It was explained to us by one of the managers that Home Depot is given the date by the supplier and that Home Depot should have called us. Well they didn't call! We will never order anything by "Special Order" again from Home Depot. There's always Home Hardware! We try to buy at "Home". Menard's would probably have had one that we liked, when we went to a pool tournament on Black Friday Weekend in Duluth!
On the floor helpers, not very helpful. It seemed like you needed to be female for them to show much interest. Bring your wife or girlfriend, might help. Other staff was good!
Service just isn't up to par with other home depots. It's a bit of a Miss when it comes to service. If you get the right person, you'll be rewarded with great service. If you are so unlucky than you will walk out of the frustrated and head somewhere else
I went into this Home Depot looking for floor screws, the size I needed was not in the shelf asked a staff member to check the stock and sure enough they had 5 buckets on hand. The matter was finding them, So he had a few other staff looked high and low for them. They eventually found them up on the top shelf they offered to get them but it would take 10 more minutes so I told them not to sweat and just grabbed another size of screws They told me If I come back later they will be there. Great service from this location from the staff, not so satisfied with products not being stacked on reachable shelves at night.

If you don't want to line up, this is the location to go. People at the wood department r friendly and will help you out on cutting wood board and they are efficient

We were in the other day and dealt with Na'il and he was pleasant and knowledgable and we were guided to the exact location for the article we were looking for.
Many staff hanging around but they rarely can be of any help as they have poor knowledge or training. Many items have no prices marked and even customer service doesn't know where to look for the price. Poor replenishment of items. Some staff have an attitude problem. A pretty frustrating place to shop at. If you have a choice, go shop somewhere else and you will have a better day. I see that the majority of reviews for this store talked about pretty much the same issue. What's the Store Management or even Home Depot HO doing about this? This community in North Markham sure doesn't deserve such a care-a-damn store.
Most times there is no one around that is as knowledgeable as a good contractor. As well half of the time I needing to drive to another location or a different retailer. Due to out of stock items mainly in electrical and plumbing. And I've been told numerous times that when the big wigs from head office come in there told in advance of the visit and therefore told to put empty boxes on the shelf to make it look full. 5 different managers have told me this at different times.
I usually dread asking a HD staff where anything is because they usually dont know or care, but I actually had a good experience with a couple of staff who knew where the stuff I was looking for was. kind of refreshing when they know where what you are looking for is and don't play at being ignorant.
Had to load 627lbs of tile on my own, moved another 400bls to get to intact cases. I'm a 45yr old cancer patient. One employee just walked around me ignoring me completely for 15mins. Others just walked by uninterested and obviously not willing to help or ask if I needed any. I was there for 25 mins taking many rest breaks. When I tried to custom order some tile and not feeling well after all the heavy lifting I found no one to help and one employee started giving me attitude when I mentioned the service there was very poor. This Individual was sitting at a computer in the floor dept. and didn't know how to order tile. I then decided to leave and go else where. On my way out I saw many employees just wondering around and outside just standing around smoking and laughing. Horrible service at this location. Don't shop here. I will never return to this location. Obviously they need to get a better manager who knows how to run a Home Depot. The other reviews confirm this location has some major major issues.

I got a very bad service today June 19, 2016. I usually get a good service, but today!!!, i am not too sure if the person had a bad day or that's his normal attitude. 3:00 PM isle 17, screws section, all i asked if i can find screws like the 2 screws that i have in stainless-steel, the way he answered, i felt like i got reprimanded for asking. I am not too sure if i am ever going back, at least not to this location.
I've always had good experiences at the Barrhaven Home Depot store. The Plumbing and Electrical people are generally fabulous, with lots of knowledgeable tips, good advice and a sympathetic approach to any of my construction challenges. Most of them just seem to really enjoy doing a great job.
They not only make shopping a nice experience, but they're also helpful with getting the right product for the job. Saves money in the long run.

Bought tools, excellent value. The store is great if you know what you're doing or after. Not so much if you have questions or need help. Every time I go there and ask for help (if I can track a rep that's free down), the people are not knowledgeable nor do I feel like they actually want to be there helping answering questions.
Selection is fairly good, prices for some items seem higher than average while other items have below average prices. Services is good but on past occasions I've had a poor experience. Seems to be better than what it was a a few years ago. Staff are helpful but sometimes hard to find.

All HomeDepots should have similar layouts. Each store hides items in different aisles. Some items could be in two places so customers don't have to walk the entire store to find everything
Not the greatest service when you require some help. Some of the employees were great but some seemed like they did not want to their as their way of communications wasn't the greatest. But overall close to our home and better value then Rona or Home Hardware.

Staff are over tasked at the online order desk on a Sunday. Due to this they are stressed; irritable; do not consider the perspective of the customer; and borderline rude.
As a company, Home Depot's delivery option and it's online ordering are completely separate and so totally illogical to a simple streamlined process for the client/customer. You can order online, but only pickup in store. But in store you can order items for delivery. If you order online, show up in store asking to have it delivered, chaos ensues with returns, repurchases and paperwork galore.
Been to many Home Depots this is the worst I've seen, the staff are 20% awake, meaning 20% know what there talking about and the others sit around and do things robots could do, if you get your name out and people get to know you any business should and would service you... They will return anything and then tape the packing together and put it back on the wall first out... Unmotivating and depressing environment, where the staff cater to locals and people they know very biased location. Love Home Depot!

The store has a metal roof so you can't have a good access to your mobile network, so make sure you google all your questions before entering the place (Especially due to only 50% of the staff can answer questions in English). They keep a good stock and the items I have been looking for in furniture projects and home renovations has never been sold out.

what i like about home depot is that they carry things that you would only find online or in the US like the peanuts holiday decorations.
where else would i find charlie brown's sad tree locally, to boot the musical one and for $5? for that, i love HD.
tip: use the website to look for what you need, compare the price before setting foot in one. you'll save a lot of time in those renovation stores and especially in this one as there's literally no one to help you.
Had terrible experience with a brand new refrigerator from Samsung that was delivered with a dent in the door .
Home Depot refused to take responsibility and had me deal with Samsung directly.

Location is nice when you need anything from an hardware store. However, it made absolutely no effort of actually being a store that belongs to its location. Just feels like they took a suburbs Home Depot and moved it on Beaubien street.

There are couple staff are helpful, nevertheless most of them do not want to work. I have been doing business with HD over 7 years. This particular store is the worst store ever!!!. HD Canada should intervene this store immediately, they ruin HD reputation period. Not surprisingly, this store/branch has below avarage online ratings.

I am a former employer of this store and I have to tell you that the people working there do so at minimum wage. There are people who have been there for 6-7 years and still earn min wage and still hold a temp position. They constantly come under threat of losing their jobs and have to force clients to buy at least 200$ of products. According to the store director, everything fine with the store. This store sells because of location. No close competition around. They are number 1 in every department according to all internal censuses. May be you should stop going to shop there and protect local companies like Rona. not that they are any better but at least you know the money is staying in Canada. Don't expect any improvements in this store .This company is very dogmatic. You either follow or you are put out of the way. Also those who want to take good incentives are put out as well. If you have been to an HD in Canada and you get a great service, that means the store is not making money. If it is making money, they don't care for customer service.
Tool rental is available for almost any job you need. Truck rental is also available for when you buy way too many 2x4s and they dont in your 2007 Aveo.

The appliance salespeople are clueless. After buying a new Frigidaire refrigerator and questioning them about the noise; a Frigidaire repairman did a service call and told me that the loud popping noise is normal. This same noise keeps me up at night. Earplugs, white noise and poor sleep is the additional expense for buying a garbage appliance from a garbage store. Oh, and if you want to buy appliances from there, they are always on sale - the regular price listed is a lie.

Staff member named Glen who works in the tools/hardware dept (aisle 12) is a great sport. Awesome guy who is smart as well that reaches out to help with initiative.
The people are nice but it's a small store so sometimes it's worth the drive to Newmarket.
Very friendly staff with great customer service skills. We were looking for a specific type of mosaic that was unfortunately sold out at that location. Although it was sold out, multiple staff members assisted us to check whether we could purchase them at another store. I would like to mention that one of the associates, Jack, went above and beyond the customer's expectations by also recommending additional products that he found very helpful with kitchen renovation. Great work and thank you for the help team!

Home Depot Bradford is by far the best Home Depot I have ever visited. I do alot of traveling to different cities and towns doing work and none has compared to the level of customer service (they make me smile the minute i walk in the door, they actually have sales associates who go aisle by aisle and ask you if you need any help, AND they even make great suggestions), they always have what i am looking for ( never out of stock), and they go above at the check out to ask what projects i am working on and make suggestions for next ones. Last night we headed to the Home Depot in Bradford to purchase a Washer & Dryer. Mitch in the appliance department was absolutely amazing, she has great product knowledge but above great Customer Service.
Although we can't get our Washer and Dryer until December (no fault of the Home Depot). Mitch set us up with a loaner washer and dryer until we get our new ones!!
If you need appliances, Home Depot is the place to go, and Mitch is the lady to see.

The manager of this store has some pretty helpful staff, but some of the older more senior guys are very lazy (especially in lumber and electrical) wont move to do anything and are pretty short and rude in their replies. Customer service desk and floor associates for the most part are helpful and friendly.
I went into this store today with a simple DIY project in mind, and was requiring some advice on product options. I waited patiently for assistance from a sales associate who was assisting another customer. At the same time a few other customers approached also needing assistance. The sales associate who offered to help me, was less then professional. At no time was eye contact made, she made no attempt to be courteous or polite. The comment was rudely made "Great, I can already tell its going to be one of those days." I personally work in retail and would see an abundance of customers as job security, profits and time filling. I was made to feel as though my needs were unimportant and an annoyance. What that associate did not know is that I am commencing a substantial home renovation, and although my purchase may have seemed menial today; her poor customer service or lack there of has helped me to decide to take my renovation budget to a competitor store where good customer service is a standard practice. I suggest implementing training for sales associates to learn how to treat customers as they truly are the heart of any business.
Every time I go to this store I get great service and great products. I have had the manager Kevin work closely with his staff and find exactly what I am looking for. I bought many things from this store just for the fact that the service and knowledge was great. I bought my hot tub there and I love it, it works great. I also bought a few BBQ and love them, and recently I bought a fire pit that was completely lost in the store but with the teams effort everyone managed to find me the fire pit. Love the store. Compared to other stores in the area home depot has better quality lumber the spruce plywood is smooth and in good shape compared to RONA.
Some staff can be helpful and are polite, I was waiting for wood to be cut the dude that was cutting it was his first day back, he was vary professional he did some math to plan the best way to cut the wood for what I need. while I was waiting a latter asked him if he need a hand and as she was leaving said thank you for your patients and tolled me it was his first day back and he was sill getting used to the saw,
Some staff can be rude and assume things or argue with you.
I was looking to buy drill bits to dill holes in wood for screws, the guy I asked for help to find the right drill bits for my older drill seamed usurpation and like I was questioning his knowledge, he also assumed that I did not have a lot of money on me his comment was "Drill bits are quite expensive" after I said that I had $200.00 on me he invested more time to help but with a bit an attitude like I was wasting his time still.
Overall if you are looking for good wood or products then its a good place to go, but don't expect all staff to be nice or professional when it comes to asking for advice or help, If you feel like you are being miss treated you can always go to someone else to get the manage to look in to it.
Great staff well stocked always very helpful.

home depot cured my alopecia!
true story, i was in the chilliwack location shopping for rope, duct tape and gloves and made the mistake of ducking under the barricade of an aisle that had been cordoned off for safety. i was selecting some beautiful lime green double braided rope when a spool of aviation cable bonked me on the head, sending me unconscious into a stack of boxed chain.
i guess some boxes landed on me, because i lay there unconscious for the better part of 2 days and went completely unnoticed by staff until i awoke and tried to free myself. to their credit, when i was noticed, staff members were quick to provide first aid in the form of fluids and some spill absorption material (after 2 days out cold i had soiled myself something terrible), as well as giving me a 5% discount on my entire purchase!
a few days later i noticed new hair growth. my doc says the prolonged exposure to the zinc coating on the galvanized chain is most likely what kick started the hair growth.
today i am hairy as the back of chewbacca's hand, and i owe it all to the big box retailer, home depot. 5 out of 5!
I absolutely love this Home Depot. Once purchased several items and returned a few remaining items almost 2 years later (with receipt) and no questions asked. Big store with an easy layout. Staff are always knowledgeable and friendly. Have good, long operating hours. Have rented tools, truck and van on several occasions and never had any problems.
Usually the place to go after a Costco visit; friendly staff, however the lumber tends to have low in house stock due to their popularity and good location.
Staff were helpful, but took some time to find one. Store is clean and tidy. I found what I needed. Returns were easy a little wait but not so bothering.

Great shopping experience. They ran out of vinyl tile samples in a specific colour but the person helping us opened a box and let us take a sheet for free. I've been able to find everything I need so far at Home Depot.
This is a pretty good Home Depot location, the store is massive and it has all the amenities you'd expect. Staff isn't too hard to find, they seem to have ample numbers on the floor at any given time and they are friendly and happy to help you find what you need.
Excellent customer service. Troy spent maybe an hour helping me choose the best materials and then he cut everything too. I've never reviewed a store before but I made the effort because I was so pleased with the service I received. Thanks Troy!
Make a visit for personal or business at least 2 times per week. Sometimes every day. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable to a degree, it's hit or miss. Usually the older folks know what is good. If you're doing anything paint related ask for J!
Staff are knowledgeable and able to assist with planning projects. Tool rentals are in good shape, additional help to pack vehicle. Parking entrance/exit a little congested.
This branch of Home Depot is unfailingly substandard in service. Orleans, Ottawa West, Kanata are all miles above and beyond in client care. Again, with no offer of a solution, I was sent away by 3 different staff members. My quest? Looking for a piece of flame retardant material. Their rationale for not helping me the client? All 3 sales staff told me that this branch has shelved all home heating stuff as it is "no longer in season"!! Not a single one of them even made a half hearted attempt at checking for an in stock or online available product. No offers of attempting to look up the product, no suggestions on a replacement product and zero attempt at client care.
REVIEW REGARDING Tile Installation by National Installations that Home Depot
contracted for our Bathroom tile project. We had two bathroom floors done, one wall
floor to ceiling in one bathroom and all walls, floor to ceiling in the second bathroom.
It took National Installations EIGHT proposals to get the it right. We likely should have taken that as a hint as to what may happen with the actual installation.
My husband had to continually fax it back with corrections. They continually had errors on their quotes. Finally after the eighth try then discussions with Home Depot about their NI's continued errors on the dimensions and necessary amount of materials, they said they would refund anything that wasn't used. So we just went ahead and accepted the ninth quote, so we could get on with it. This took almost two months and we wanted the project done !
Although the installers were certainly pleasant enough, the final job was less than
After the first few tiles were installed we noticed that they had installed some tiles right at the doorway that looked like they were dirty or had marks on them that most of the other tiles did not. We asked the installers if they come across any more to put them under the vanity, behind the toilet or any other places they would not be noticed or to not use them at all. To which they agreed. (They never did move the
However ... such was not the case. They continued to install flawed or damaged tiles in places that were very noticeable. One tile was so bad it felt like it had sand
or some other aggregate all over it. Yet they actually installed it in a place that we
immediately noticed. We had to INSIST they re-do that tile. Which after calling their HQ, they did. When they did replace it, the grout was a different and to us, noticeable
colour. Which they basically poo pooed.
We also found tiles that were cut crooked and some ceiling damage. We had to do major clean up nightly during the project so we didn't bring the mess into other areas of the house. As our two bathroom are connected by a pocket door, we had to have one available at all times for their use - as per the contract - which was fine as they were going to take a few weeks for the project (they were doing more than our project at the same time) we needed a usable bathroom as well. They used our front walkway to cut the tiles and left white stains all over it near our front entrance. Although they did 'clean up', I'm not sure they passed the
"leave the customers home clean and the shape it was in" course.
We contacted Home Depot who then had National Installations contact us. After
explaining all our issues, the owner eventually came a month later, to look at our concerns,
The local owner of National Installations agreed with all our concerns but did point out
that the tile flaws were not their responsibility - to which we agreed but advised we had asked them NOT to install damaged or flawed tiles. We also advised him that when we showed the installers the flawed tiles they installed, they told us that another customers had told them that as well with the same tiles! (so why would you
not be paying attention to the possibility of flaws???)
He did say they would contact us to discuss how we wanted the extremely damaged tiles replaced or what we would want done.
We have not heard back since .... FOUR MONTHS and still not a word!
NEVER AGAIN, WOULD WE HIRE NATIONAL INSTALLTIONS.

Home Depot insists on using, then Home Depot doesn't get the business either. And that is where we purchased all materials for the project. As well, we upgraded everything in both bathrooms, as all the old appliances etc were 25 years old. Shower heads, shower door, toilets, vanities, mirrors, faucets and all the plumbing parts to install those items (we demo'd and installed everything ourselves other than the actual tiles)
This review is purely based on the knowledge of floor staff. Every once in a while you get someone who actually knows what they are talking about, but most times you get stuck with someone who is essentially oblivious and out to lunch. Case and point, I went in just the other day to grab an extension cable that is specific for a particular light bar, but couldn't find, and the first guy I talked to just disappeared immediately after saying he would help me, then the second guy couldn't understand what I was talking about and told me to just buy a roll of 18 gauge wire and splice it in myself. Can I do it? Yes, but that's not the point. The point is he was clueless even when I physically showed him what I was talking about on a similar, but incompatible, product. This isn't a one time thing either.
I call in for assistance as it was a very basic question. Do they have parts for a product they sell in seasonal. They couldn't even answer a few basic questions . Very disappointed. Last words out of her mouth Saturday Dec. 12, 2015 @11;54am where "I'm with customers right now I can't help you"! Well, what am I. I was asking if you have parts for a product that they sell. Not to sit there and waste time like I was doing prior for 12 minutes while the phone was set on "Ignor". Very disappointed.

This review should have happened a long time ago. We would like to apologize to all those mentioned in this review as well as those we may have forgotten to mention in this review that have helped us over the years with the renovations we have done. This store is exceptional, there is no other word for it. We have always received outstanding service from the employees at this location. It does not matter what section of the store we have dealt with sales, customer service, rentals, pro desk, greeters, returns etc they have all been outstanding. Something we have always liked is that if someone did not know something they would always take us to someone that did know the answer to the question we had. Heidi and I would like to personally thank the following people for always going above and beyond in helping us. Julie "Super Julie", Tara, George, Taryn, Peter, Angela, Laura, Dianna, Nat, Devin, Alexi, Charmain, Bill and Rosie. Thank you all so much for always looking after us so well. We have always really appreciated all of your time, effort and patience. Keep up the excellent work. Home Depot is really lucky to have such great staff like all of you working for them. We realize that Lyle no longer works at home depot but feel that it would not be right to not mention him in this review. This is my go-to place for home renovation supplies, it is a great store. My only beef is the cost for the fasteners is outrageous. I go to Wilway Lumber or Sabre Industrial supplies for my fasteners.
I was helped by a gentleman named Calvin on November 4th at this location and I must say this was my best experience at Home Depot! Calvin was very patient and took the time to answer all of my questions and explain everything in full detail! He was extremely professional, willing to help and share his expertise and very friendly as opposed to many other encounters with staff at different locations and in general, other stores. I was especially pleased that he even followed-up with my order the following day! I strongly recommend this location and in particular, suggest seeking Calvin for any advice or questions! He truly is an outstanding staff member and the company is lucky to have him on board!
I met a Russian employee in the area of power tools who called me nazi because I am belarusan and don't consider myself russian(!). This is ridiculous, especially taking in consideration there is a war between russian agressors and Ukraine right now, where russians killed thousands of slavic people.

I ordered a dishwasher on homedepot website, but it was damaged during the delivery. I went to this homedepot to get solution and the kindly staff helped me to exchange a new one. they delivered the new one and took the damaged one within a week. I looooove their service.
Refused to honor the price on the price tag displayed despite having exact same barcode. Was not told they would not do this so waited for half an hour for them to sort it out.
We received the worse customer service with the store manager (Frank) here. He was not friendly, acted like we're here to get things for free, and talked to us like his time is not worth spending with us. We're so disappointed.

Tried to a order a mere 500 sf of laminate floors delivered to my basement. First of sitting the with the rep, takes him Almost 45 mins to enter my order bc he kept asking for me information 3 or 4 times. OK no problem. I ask for delivery to my basement on not curbside.. This seemed to be the most difficult question the flooring department ever had. None of the reps knew if the floors would be delivered to my basement or curbside because they didn't know which option to choose in the program. They called around and no one could say for sure if the shopping option they chose would be correct, even though the option was more expensive. OK no problem. He prints the receipt after I pay, it says "curbside delivery".. I asked the rep he said oh no worries it just says that but they'll deliver to your bsmnt. OK no problem. I get home look over the order... The address is incorrect and even the name is incorrect (under my wife's name). So I call instore and ask to change the address.. No apologies nothing just a rude staff who said yeah yeah it's changed. I call again this morning to double check... Good thing I did bc they DID NOT change the address! The laminate flrs would have been delivered somewhere else! Cherry on top, the person I spoke to in deliveries was so rude and condescending she just wanted to get me off the phone, I told her to check the unit # of the delivery and it was still the old one! And she was getting mad that I was questioning the order. Now let's see if the laminate floor end up curbside or in my basement, bc homedepot if you're reading this, and my floors end up outside in the rain, you're going to send 2 guys at your expense to bring down the floors to my basement IMMEDIATELY. Let's see. Horrible consumer experience. This is home depot.. I avoided purchasing from a no name place to avoid these exact hassles. Lets see.
Some staff are very helpful. Some staff are terrible and not helpful at all. The place is clean and tidy. Sometimes u can get best discount here for light bulb. Be sure to check the price online first before u make any purchase.

I get a call saying my delivery will be 8am to 12 pm.
The delivery person comes at 1:05 pm and calls when I was at the dentist and then just leaves (despite us living in a condo where they could have left it with the front desk).
I call delivery service and they say I was scheduled for 9 to 1 pm. I recheck the automated message on my voicemail and it reads 8 to 12.
I end up having to reschedule for two days later with the delivery service representative who tells me home depot has had a lot of these complaints.
In the grand scheme of things, this is not a real pressing problem..but had I hird a contractor to come today, it would have inconvenienced many more people and cost me more than just time. Do better home depot and start caring about when deliveries happen. Stop taking your customers for granted.

Good like any other home depot. Be careful if you buy any clothing though. I bought a Milwaukee heated jacket from there and had to return it due to it not fitting well (you can't try them on unless they have the size on display. The jackets come packaged vacuum sealed). They would not take it back stating store policy on clothing. Final sale. The store in Oakville took it back no problem.
Arrived at the door at 10pm with the doors open walked in and was greeted with a voice that just yelled were closed. There was no sorry attached to it or any form of politeness. I understand I made a mistake but employees do need to learn that people are humans and we make mistakes. I don't think the lady who screeched at me has never make a mistake in her life. I think people need to learn people have feelings and one bad experience can have a long term effect.
Awful washing machine experience
Bought an $800 washer in June, November the hose flew off the back and flooded the basement with scalding hot water, emergency plumber said it was cross threaded I. E. Not properly installed in the first place. Could've been seriously injured. Not to mention had to spend hours on my hands and knees 7 months pregnant trying desperately to mop up all the water before it soaked into the cement floor. Home depot had no offer of any help at the time they just passed it to their insurance who took 5 days to call, they said they'd passed it to the installation company. Spoken to 3 different store managers all of them tried to say it was up to the insurance to deal with now, insurance told me home depot could replace the washer if they wanted to while they decide who's at fault, them, the installer or the manufacturer. I don't care who's at fault it wasn't me, but I've been without a washer for almost two weeks having to go back and forth to the laundromat at my own expense hauling heavy laundry everywhere when I'm pregnant. You'd think someone at home depot would care about that but all I ever get when I call is let me check this or these notes and call you tomorrow and nobody ever returns the call. I'll be contacting head office if the call is not returned by the end of today as was promised last night. It's not acceptable that I paid them $800 and the money for installation, and they allowed some shoddy installer to do this and now won't take responsibility for it. My basement is ruined! That's apparently not their problem either.
I'm in the store at least every other day. I'm doing a full renovation. Biggest complaint is having to HUNT DOWN help! I don't have that problem at Lowe's... just saying. Associates however, are very helpful for the most part and friendly

The store is generally clean and decently stocked (though I find Burl-Oak or Missisauga has greater inventory at times) Your experience here will depend a lot on who you deal with, I have been several times as it is local. Unfortunately, I have to say that nearly every time I require assistance in this store, some staff avoid eye contact, while some are simply incompetent in the area they are supposed to be working in. Booking a carpet installation was painful, and the girl asked me why I didn't just do it myself as she struggled to book the measure and place the order. Actually, because the area was small enough that I couldn't buy the tools for the price of the install - not that my reasons mattered. I'm sure there must be lots of good people that work there, but likely they work during the day-shift dealing mostly with professionals. I would like to add, that DAN is a saving grace in this place. Three times I've been there with no help from other people, he has been the one I've bee able to approach, and helps me find what I'm looking for, or makes a good suggestion, regardless of what area he is supposed to be working in at the time. He is an asset to the store and deserves to be recognized for it.
I find this location to be great. We are doing a basement reno, and they have helped us with everything along the way. The flooring, paint, kitchen, bath and lighting personnel were amazing. They were more than happy to share their knowledge and provide us the necessary insight into our renovation. I prefer this location to all other Home Depot locations, and constantly rave about their service. Furthermore, when I visit, they remember me and my reno.
I find that the staff here helps you out more than the Heartland location. Equipment rental guy that helped us was really helpful and took the time to explain how the rental would work and how to operate the equipment.
While the service was okay. I was not pleased with there sales technique. I needed a dishwasher and found one on sale. We where working out a price for payment when i inquired about putting in on my truck he told no they would deliver it and it was $50 for dilevery. I said i dont need it deliverd i can just put it on my truck. He said no i have to pay $50 for delivery its there policy. If thats the case there policy should include the dilvery fee in there price up front not when your getting your total at the end. I dont like wasting my time and feel its a bit of a sneaky move to get an extra $50 in the end. So when the salesman says i have to pay a deliver fee. Um no i dont ill shop else where thanks.

Very hard to find employees around and lately most of the advise is very doubtful. Hopefully they can upgrade and provide honest efficient and useful advise.
Small Home Depot. Doesn't carry some of the stuff that other Home Depots have.
Staff not as friendly and helpful, which makes a huge difference because most of the people are out there with their DIY projects and need help.

Brutal customer service and lack of ownership to solve a customers problem. Had to wait at the key cutting station for 20 minutes with no one coming to assist. I called the store to have someone paged because as soon as you spot someone they disappear. After two pages for service requests I was leaving the store and ran into an associate and asked if they knew how to cut keys. He says I sure do and I asked if he could help. He offered to page someone instead of helping.
My question to Home Depot is this; If you can't help cut a couple keys why would I ask for help on major purchases like appliances or other items for my home.
Do the small things right and the big things will take care of themselves.

Download the app and look stuff up yourself it will tell you right where it is in the store and if your wondering if they have more in stock you can scan it with your phone no need to have to communicate with the staff cause it just leads to frustration as they are opinionated and clueless .

I buy a lot of materials at home improvement stores, and HD is always my go to store. Lowe's has burned me more than once (making excuses about returns, difficult to find associates, associates in adjacent departments unwilling to help) while HD make returns incredibly easy and I am often approached and asked if I need assistance.
Home depot is my go to place for any kind of home renovation and repairs. However, I do everything in my power not to talk to the staff. They are generally pretty useless and clueless. They have a few old guys who are retired journeymen or contractors and if they happen to be in the section you're looking for something in they can be amazing. However, they seem to have less of those guys and more useless staff who aren't willing or able to help.
Standard big box hardware store. Smoke parking but still a very busy parking lot. Fairly well stocked.

Is there a rating lower than one star? I rented an roofing nailer from the the Regina, Victoria Ave store for 24 hrs. I used it for the entire 24hrs and went to return to the store. I got to the store at closing time and walked right in and found a staff person. The guy told me that I could not return the nailer as their system was now offline. I understood that but I said I did not want to be charged a late fee. He told me to come back in the morning. So I did. I explained the situation to the tool manager (DEEPAK) who said, "you are being charged an additional $20, for two days rental." I questioned him about being told to keep the tool over night and that the fee should be waived. Essentially they are charging me for storing the tool in my truck over night after I attempted to return it. Either way, they could have acknowledged my attempt to return it and waived the fee, system working or not. The tool manager was very ignorant and repeatedly said " two day rental....two day rental..." while I attempted to explain. I even said that it was not about the money, it was the ethics.
Thanks for the horrible service. I take my business to Lowes for now on.

Their prices can sometimes be a bit inflated so it is best to research online before hand.
I almost never use their staff for questions on what to get, as they don't know what I am talking about most of the time. However, they are very helpful tracking items down in the store.

Spent a long time looking around for a good deal on kitchen appliances for my new house. Everywhere else I went the sales people would ignore what I told them and up sell me on everything. At Home Depot I got excellent service, advice and exactly what I was looking for. No sales pitches for the things that I didn't need/want to pay for.
A year later I still have my fridge, stove, washer, dryer, and dish washer that I bought at Home Depot, but even more important is that I still appreciate them, the price I paid and the service I received.
I also used there financing plan and it worked great.
Overall: 5/5 no complaints!
I'll have to put one star but not because of the store itself. The store itself is great. The staff is incompetent. I've been to many Home Depot stores in the states and the service is much better over there.

I received amazing customer service today. The best customer service!!! Kyle among other representatives came up offered assistence. They were eager, and very knowledgeable.
After having my call transferred to the same dead line 5 times i finally speak to the manager on duty only to be transferred again and then immediately hung up.....in those 10 mins or so I was able to find an alternative vendor who was happy to answer my call and my questions, as luck would have it they even had what i wanted in stock. Perhaps Home Depot had what i wanted too but we'll never know.
The Kids Workshop is a fantastic idea. The young lady running it is the ideal person for the job. All the kids attending seem to be having a great time, working in a safe environment and learning valuable skills.

Needed to find a bolt. Found it in the plastic test display, not in the shelves anywhere. No one anywhere to help.
Went to a cashier and asked. She said "I don't know...". I asked her if there was someone that might now. She paged someone from hardware. I waited 5 minutes and no one showed up so I left and went to Rona.

We ordered a custom pocket door from this location. After a month of waiting for the door to come into the store for pick-up, we were told that the door was damaged and that a new one would have to be ordered. When the new door was ordered we were informed that they would put a rush on it so the wait time would be less then a month. Once the second door came in(after a 5 week wait) the head office called us to let us know the door was in the store and ready for pick-up. We then received another call 4 days later to inform us that the door had gone missing and was no where to be found. After getting this information we could not be bothered to deal with Home Depot and cancelled our order and will be taking our money elsewhere. The only reason they get one star instead of zero is because the girl we dealt with in store was extremely helpful through all of this horrifying experience. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT FROM HOME DEPOT EVER AGAIN!
This home depot is rarely out of stock on items i'm looking for. The staff has been helpful whenever I've been in. There was the odd time that I wasn't able to find someone to assist me, but I don't think I've ever left without what I was looking for.
The store service was terrible. Only 1 staff member (out of 7 in the immediate area) knew where the product was. They had all disappeared when we had a few questions but we bought the grass trimmer anyway. A few days later. I wanted some info on additions for this trimmer. I got left on hold 3 times. I tried your site (no luck). Your assistance chat line window popped up. Nobody home there either. I sent you an email outlining this experience. No response there either. I realized I was doing all the work to buy some product from HOME DEPOT. This is the worst (crappy) service ever. I returned the trimmer and am buying from a reputable retailer who believes in after sale SERVICE. In future, I will only shop at Home Depot if I can't find what I need Anywhere else. The service in your store even excels the crappy service at Canadian Tire and THAT is not something to brag about.
Typical Home Depot you would expect with good product at prices typical to similar retailers.
I purchased mouse traps along many other items. Unfortunately this time I tried the new Victor type traps with the yellow bait platform and personally found them to be way too sensitive. I found that when placing them down the very slightest bump or nudge causes them to snap. Additionally, just to set them is stressful and slightly dangerous as the trigger arm easily slips out of the bait platform trigger. To rectify this I simply took them back to exchange them for the "classic" Victor traps with the classic trigger system. Well, I was basically accused of returning "used" traps.
1) That is discusting, I always throw out used traps.
2) Why would I return traps, and buy ones which are actually slightly more expensive.
3) It is a better business practise to trust your frequent customers.
Finally, the $5 return (totally not worth the hassle at this point) was allowed. But if they were to allow the return, skip the scepticism and attitude.
For something so trivial I have had pleasant service at Rona and WalMart in the rare event that an item does not satisfy it's intended purpose. I will be returning there, not this Home Depot for my lessor and greater purchases.
Friendly staff and very knowledgeable. The staff was always able to point me towards the right direction to get what I'm looking for. Also, this store handles warranty items so seamlessly and made the process fast and not a burden like other large chain stores that I've dealt with.

Went in for a plumbing issue.
A young man who happened to be a third year plumbing apprentice showed us exactly what we needed and how to install it ourselves. Nothing like having a pro to give you some advice.
Also had a door problem .... We were eagerly and knowledgeably assisted by the assistant general manager Shel.
In and out in 15 fifteen minutes and had fun doing it.. great job guys!
A busy store, and it some times can be difficult to find an employee. However the staff,when you find one, have always been very helpful, offering great suggestions and advice.
A couple people (one cashier and one person who works in a department i think) have been friendly and helpful on a couple of my experiences so that was good but most of the staff don't greet me and they seem too busy to care. If it weren't for the odd thing I needed from Home Depot, I wouldn't come here. I have gone elsewhere for most of our home renovation needs not out of cost but out of experience with friendly and efficient service.
Out of stock or stock stored out doors and not priced. Very few staff to help and even if you find 3 they ignore you. Complaints to H.O. lead you to inept managers that don't know how to correct their problems. To busy with team building to help.
Customer service starts with listening to the customer. Ignored several times. When came time to pay, the amount far exceeded the amount I expected!! All the person at the till did was attempt to force me into signing up for a credit card. Asked to speak with a manager and again told the only way to save any money was the signing up for a credit card! Please don't shop here if you can avoid it! You will save a headache and time if you look for better deals and products els where! I will also be following up with someone in regards to how pushy they were in the credit offering!
So i find Michael (the main plumbing guy on duty) to help me find a shower part item, but he was busy with a few other customers, so he gets another employee to help me. The "employee" tried looking for it, to no avail. He just told me he couldn't find it, then he literally walks away! Before he could get away, I had to ask if he could look it up in their system, or to fetch Michael again. He said he would, and I waited (10 min.) there in the aisle thinking he would get Michael Guess what, I walk 3 aisles down to FIND Michael without a single clue that this "employee" was looking for him. I was fuming internally!
So Michael tried helping me by calling a nearby store to see if they had any in stock, but couldn't get anyone on the phone. So we head back to the plumbing/shower aisle and along the way I see that "employee" somewhere else doing something else!!
Typically well stocked and staff are friendly. Can be hard to find a staff member sometimes. Best clearance for any location in Edmonton I have been to.
Everything I needed was in Stock. Slightly disorganized though. Some things are hard to find.
I don't know how a store can make me so frustrated and angry every time I try to shop there. I just wasted 4 hours of my day trying to buy a pressure washer today, and all I have to show for it is a migraine. I bought a new pressure washer earlier today which was painful enough, seeing as none of the shelves were stocked. After waiting for 45 min to get a fork lift to retrieve one, I bought it and went home. Once home i opened the box only to find that someone had owned my "brand new" pressure washer before me. There was sand in the filter, and all of the stainless steel was rusted. So i took it back, which was the least painfully part of my experience. So back to the empty shelves i went to pick a different washer, seeing as they only had one of the first one i bought. Out of the washers on display, only one was stocked, in a box that was completely trashed, and a mystery washer with no display or price. A sales assistant found the price at $379, but then found it on sale online for $319. They took me up to customer service told them what had been going on, and then went for break. After beening bounced between three "customer service" representatives they finally got to me. At which point i was told that they would not match the online price, and to take it or leave it. Even after explaining everything that i had been through to try and buy a pressure washer today they basically treated me like they didn't care in the least. Judging by the line up of other dissatisfied customers it seems like they are not in the habit of making any of their customers happy. So four hours down the drain, and nothing to show for it.
Sat on a bag of fertilizer waiting for 15min for someone to get me a lawn mower as directed by customer service to wait. Found out another guy also sitting on bags of fertilizer was already waiting before me to get a lawnmower. Save yourself the trouble and don't go there and just build your own lawn mower or concrete you yard if you think you are getting a lawn mower from here.
Staff is always friendly and helpful. Never have to wait to check out, there is always enough staff on the floor (I have been to other Home Depot where you had to go to customer service to get help in plumbing, paint etc)
What can I say: they don't care. If you buy something here make sure you check and re-check the package. I have returned defective lumber merchandise, electrical and others. Next day I went back I saw the same items back on the shelf. So many boxes on their shelves with the seals broken, it almost feels like you are visiting a second hand store. Make sure you check your boxes and they have their seals on... Out of all departments in the store, only the staff in plumbing are polite and know what they're doing.

Not what i was looking for. The staff there were arrogant and whn i asked for 1/2'' pvc tubing, a salesman gave me fittings that did not match. Then, he offered me some copper tube. It didn't even work. Very dissapointed
Not much to say about this particular location. The same struggle constantly exists with Home Depot. They have all of the hardware and merchandise I'm generally looking for, but the sales/service are overwhelmed with newbies like myself, and it's hard for me to find the expertise that I'm looking for. In my latest trip, I found the self checkout especially difficult to deal with, as the scanning device wasn't reading the bar codes on approximately 20% of the items that I purchased. Got frustrated and asked the cashier/assistant to cancel my self checkout, so that I could go to a regular checkout.
Well organized and great staff. They may need more people as we've had difficulty getting help on occasions Comparing with other stores.

Most of the staff is friendly other than a guy in appliances who is rude, unhelpful and has poor product knowledge. Most of the other staff are knowledgeable or can find you someone else that is.(what more can you ask really)

Stock levels are usually pretty good.
This is my closes home depot so I am here very often. My biggest complaint is that this store has a clearance problem. Clearance products are barely marked down and often sit around for months as a result. Many times I've seen clearance product more expensive than current product prices because they have been there so long. It's a small thing, but it bothers me.
Organize, customer service is helpful, good guide can get from any department, workers are knowledgeable.

Fantastic location, it's brand new and is the largest Home Depot I have been to in a while. You will find any little thing you need for your home here. I came to this location to rent their cargo van. Very cheap price, no strings attached. Way better than UHaul for quick pick ups. Only cost me $28 with tax to bring home a dining table from another store. They didn't care what I was using the truck for, where as Lowe's does.
I stopped by this location to order a dishwasher, I showed the sales person the lower price of the competitor, he simply went online to confirm, verified the price I had produced, applied the additional discount offered by the competitor then applied 10% discount per their policy and proceeded to place the order. It was a walk in the park, excellent customer service, I will certainly go back to this location for every purchase.
It hasn't been open that long, but there are so many things wrong with this store. There are very few lumber carts, and the few that there are are piled with product for stocking shelves. Customer service is dismal. Parking lot is a zoo. Commodity items are lower quality. The aisles are cluttered with stacks of product, even blocking exits.
Avoid it. Both Millwork/Rona and Lowes have much better service.

I've lived in Pickering for the last five years and this place has progressively gotten better. More knowledgeable employees have been hired and customer service is friendly and patient.

Was very impressed by the employee in the electrical department who spent over 20 minutes trying to help me find an item that was in stock but no where to be found! We finally managed to find the item. All the staff was very helpfull.

We were looking for some lumbers at HomeDepot Anjou last Sunday, every staff is so friendly and helpful. After have purchased the lumbers, i realized that i forgot to bring my renewed car insurance to rent a truck...the store manager Claire and Loris are so nice to offer us a delivery, even helped us to load the lumbers into the truck!
We've been at this store fairly frequently for some home reno projects in past months, i found the staffs in the store are quite knowledgeable about what they are selling, they always try to guide me through the best practice and point out the potential problem in my plan. We can see this HomeDepot will be our go-to store for our home reno projects for years to come.
The service isn't very good. My mother and I wanted a carpet but they had it in a truck and not on the floor. They said they will put it on the floor and then call us. I called back 1 day after they said they would call and the manager said that the employee who served me is currently working and will call me within the hour. I never received a call again. This home depot did not have a lot of selection.
Had a chat with the store manager about something I bought for my mother-inlaw 2 months ago (I'm in Ottawa and couldn't get back). She used it for a few minutes and couldn't really figure it out so I tried to return it. Store policy, unknown to me, was that this product was not returnable in that 90 day window; it could be replaced when broken. Anyways, the store manager understood and made it right. I'm very grateful and appreciate the service. HD seems to treat me right everywhere I go so they continue to get my shopping.

My experience was not so great... I Usually don't require any help, but found myself in the hardware section looking for an #8 x 3" Metal screw but could not find it on the wall of screws, which was silly because I was holding the empty box from purchasing a few a week prior. The hardware guy could not be found, So I had him paged...after 10 min, I had him paged again... 10 min later.... he showed up. I quickly asked for the screw and was replied with "we don't sell that here, sorry" and he walked away as quickly as he "not so answered" my question. I am looking at the website right now, and there is the screw, at the location I was at, with a "In-Store Only" tag. Needless to say, I am frustrated and believe my time to be worth something. Moral of the story... AVOID THE HARDWARE SECTION IN THIS STORE! Cheers

Great selection of hardware tools, home appliances and products for your office/home. I like they're among the few retailers that have self service checkouts. Prices are high for many items.
The cashier at the garden centre was so rude. I get it, she gets paid min wage, but she also is a Bad person for well... Everything she did today. That and or Her manager might be a bad person as well. I say that b/c the junipers we were looking to buy looked so sad and unwatered. Bag manager, bad garden centre, bad staff. Period. We went across the street to Rona who had the most gorgeous junipers. Happy plants! Home depot won't be our go to from now on... Nor our friends and everyone we tell.

I had a shed that was broken so I returned it and this location did not have any more left. Eventually I ended up speaking with one of the associates Morris who then went ahead and did everything he could to find me another one and arrange for it to be picked up at another location. With all of Morris' great help and great attitude it was all successful and I as a customer was satisfied.

I purchased a cantilever umbrella from the wyecroft oaville location over a year ago. The umbrella snapped in half during a family bbq last week so I called the home depot call center for assistance. The call centre did nothing to assist and did nothing to address my concerns.
I decided to show up in store and discuss them matter with customer service. The first supervisor came over and suggested it was not a store issue and explained that I would have to deal with the manufacturer if the product was older then 3 months. Not good. I was upset to say the least and shocked by the fact that HD was not willing to stand behind their product especially when it could have resulted in serious injury. I was very upset, demanded a manager, and have to admit, I became quite beligerent. Ali, a manager in customer service, attempted to calm the situation and demonstrated the type of skills that separate HD from others in the home improvement category. Ali's level headed approach and professionalism was calming and allowed us to work through a solution.
Although I am not pleased with the quality of the cantilever umbrella I purchased. Ali did all the right things to ensure that this loyal Home depot shopper will continue to shop at the Home Hepot.

The store supervisor (Kailie Jowett) was awful. She wouldn't let me return a product for no reason. It never stated I couldn't return the product in the policy, and she couldn't explain why.
Go there a lot for my DIY needs. Lots of selection, not always the best prices.
Ran in quickly at lunch to pick up 3 items, came out with nothing. Staff directed me to all sorts of aisles which didn't come close to what I was looking for. Needed soft close hinges and when i ask the guy in the kitchen center he was quick to tell me he's on the phone (blue tooth ear piece) and then went about his phone conversation...went back to see him after my wild goose chase and he sat there with his arms up behind his head and didn't acknowledge me.
As always with HD...waste of time.

Store is great but they need to reevaluate some of their employees. There is a woman who works towards the back of the store who is very rude. I believe her name is Debra-Lee. On 3 separate occasions she was rude to my family and I. Makes me not want to go back!
Very helpful in need of anything for home products. A bit pricey but indeed it is good to have here.
I always find a sales associate when I need help and have him/her help until I get what I need. I don't bother having someone paged because I have learned from other companies that it doesn't work many times.
If I am in a hurry I phone ahead and place an order and it is ready for pickup the following morning. I have read the reviews from others and they should try preordering like I do so someone can load their order when they arrive and pay.
As for anyone who has a Home Depot contractor do an install who they are not happy with they need to talk with the store manager who will make things right. Home Depot is very concerned about their customers and want to know when their contractors do not live up to the high standards expected of them. The same with rude, disrespectful employees and poor service. Speak to the store manager. That is what I do and I also talk with the manager about outstanding service from an employee. I believe that by doing this the store will provide better service to everyone. Be proactive so everyone can benefit.
I love Home Depot in general, and this location specifically, for the incredible customer service I've received on several visits. The staff are genuinely knowledgeable and helpful. Many times I've had them suggest a solution to my particular household problem that was both practical and economical, along with expert advice on how to make it happen. They have never tried to upsell me to get me to buy a more expensive product, and in fact often recommend a more economical option to one I'm considering. Once an employee even gave me a part I needed for free because he happened to have a spare and it wasn't something the store sold separately.
I arrived at the store at 6 pm on April 20 and spent 10 minutes looking for the cedar I needed to buy could not find what I needed. I found an employee who told me he would send somebody right over. At 6:20 I found another employee who was going to send somebody right over. At 6:30 I found the employee that worked the department. He told me they had lots of the 1x1 and 2x2 cedar I needed. He could not locate the 1x1 and finally found the 2x2 at 6:45. I was informed that I would have to wait 5 or ten more minutes for a forklift and spotter. I told him I didn't have time to wait. I grabbed a couple of cedar planks and went to to cash register. The cashier asked me if I found everything I was looking for? I told her my story. Her response... Oh that's okay. ?????? I told her what part of that was okay? Another cashier came over, who overheard the conversation added and and that is too bad. Then I was asked if I wanted my receipt emailed to me. Thanks for the great service Home Depot!!!!!!
Staff is very cooperative and guide properly enabling us to take right & quick decisions to buy the appropriate products. It saves valuable time while shopping there.

I used to love Home Depot, but this place has gone drastically down hill.
I waited an hour and a half to rent a mini-ex first thing in the morning. I showed up to return it 25 minutes before close, and the girl at the rental desk looked at me and said 'Are you serious? It's 20 minutes before close!' On the way out the door to check the machine, she cut me off and kicked the door open like she was on an episode of cops.
I was then over charged for the rental and had the manager argue with me for 20 minutes before charging me the proper price.
It was one of the most frustrating and unpleasant retail experiences I've ever had. I spent $1300 at Home Depot today, and it will likely be my last visit.

Terrible.. Rental staff doesn't even have any knowledge on the tools their renting...the girl at the counter couldn't figure out how to use the sprayer I wanted ,so she sent me to another Home Depot....the same thing happened. Another girl who knows nothing about tools. Why don't they just check the tools before they go back out for rental
Bloody hell! Looked online for the advertised 26 cc curved gas trimmer and they showed there was 8 in stock. Took off on my lunch break from work to go get one and the kid that helped said sorry "it's bad inventory, we don't have any" bad inventory? Gracious me! So now I've wasted my time, gas and Lunch break and still don't have a trimmer and then (maybe I expect too much out of customer service since it's my job and i know how to go above and beyond) but there wasn't even an offer from him to check other stores for me. Boooooo! Anyways I got home after work and called another location and the have dozens! I even asked the lady to look on the shelf instead of taking the computers word for it ( bad inventory and all) I might get my trimmer after all!!
People in general have a lot to say about 'large commercial hardware stores'. However, I like the Ancaster Home Depot. The staff has a lot of gems on-board and after going there on a regular basis you learn which ones are more helpful.
Hey Lynn H if you're reading, you're the best! Lynn walked me through the process of signing up for a contractor card, something I should have done years ago.
And to the person putting down the lady in the paint dept maybe you caught her on a bad day. She's a sweet lady and I've actually had the pleasure of dealing with her myself.

Paid for and arranged a morning delivery of my lumber.
It is 4pm and the driver can not be contacted, and no one can give me an answer. The best part is that you have to be home for them to drop it. One associate had a great idea of me putting a note on the door, saying that I am not home right now please leave it on the driveway. Nothing better than announcing to your neighbourhood that you aren't home.
I have a suggestion set up a delivery system and don't overbook.
It can be hit or miss. Generally the majority of the staff are great when you ask for help. Many just walk by though without acknowledging. Had a great experience in paint with an older dude who knew everything about paint. As well, was having a real issue finding the right plumbing parts and a young kid helped me out and he was great.
I ordered custom doors from them. They said it usually takes 4 weeks. It could take 2 weeks but they have to say that it could take up to 6 weeks. Here we are at 8 weeks since we placed and order and I called this morning to check if they are in. And they are, great. But I can not pick them up till next week because receiving has not put them in the system yet and no one works in receiving on weekends. This is 9 weeks. Also if you go into doors and windows and try to talk to someone it can take up to an hour before you can even talk to the guys. Frustrated. They should give realistic time lines for there products. And it should not take a week for them to receive products off there truck when people are waiting for products they have paid for.
After I got a house it's been my go to for home improvement. Got a great deal on a Milwaukee drill driver combo.
Courteous staff and a well stocked item inventory. The wood is where they fall down with most planks twisted and warped due to improper storage and just bad, low grade lumber.
always been good but do not buy the treatment for cut ends cedar or treated they both r milky not the right color at all and I returned both and checked afew other cans they r all the same but they wouldn't pull it from the self even tho they know both r bad and not right I got a can at castle in warman for half the price and it's the color with no floatys .

While they're still an excellent bet to find what you need, they never seem to have enough staff around to assist quickly.
They have lots of hardware and most likely they will have what your looking for but in most cases you will need to seach to find it yourself because nobody knows anything. Usually staff are either teenage girls at their first job or foreigners who barely speak english and know nothing about hardware.
I had questiond about fire pits and what they had in stock cause couldnt find them . Couldnt get the help I needed so going elswhere.
Went in not knowing my way around, everyone was very helpful. Had a lock rekeyed and extra keys made. Staff was very knowledgeable and pristine customer service. Will definitely be going back to this location. Thank you
My boyfriend and I came in to the store looking for a certain door, and lock set for our house. A gentleman came up and assisted us right away. We live 2 hours away so after we found the door and lock set he found us a cart, and helped us wrap the door with cardboard and packing wrap. Another employee assisted in the wrapping as well and had us out of there in 15 mins with everything we needed to complete the door.

I bought a kitchen sink and faucet on "clearance". At the time of purchase a store associate told me it was a display model and that's why it was being sold. When I tried to install it, I found the faucet supply lines had been cut with a side cutter and hence the faucet was destroyed. When I went to Home Depot for assistance I was told all they would do is give me a "discount" on another faucet. The sink has no template or mounting hardware but this was of little concern to the "manager". So, over $450 later I have a used sink jerry rigged in my new kitchen. I guess you get what you pay for, but not in this case. Be careful of shopping at Home Depot, it's impossible to find someone who knows much and harder to find someone who gives a care.

waited at electrical after having lady at paint page some one no one came after a while i went back to her she paged again waited a little while then went to the office where there was a guy sitting at desk told him he just said ok . and turned around and went back at the computer and ignored me so i went to lowes and did my shopping were every time i turned a corner some one helped me . man the manager needs to get there buts in gear unless the manager is the problem . but there is a problem .and this is not the first time i had this no help thing in this sarnia store

I like Home Depot for so many things. There lumber being inside for you to self choose is great. They have a great line and assortment of tools. Utmost, I have always had super service from all people.

Every "BIG BOX STORE" has it's drawbacks - some people can not find what they need and some people have problems finding an associate to help them. Home Depot is an all around good store - sometimes I come across a staff member that doesn't seem to care however this is not the norm. (If I do experience that type of input, I just move onto another staff member) . People tell me to go to Lowes next door because the prices are better and I have tried but I still feel better at Home Depot. Usually they have what I want and or they send me somewhere that has the item! Thanks Home Depot
...Called just before 9 pm to see if they carried a product I saw in Home Depot , Port Huron and did not see it listed in Home Depot .ca... I live in Toronto and travel to Sarnia quite regularly ,and our stores are open until 10pm...the operator answers with a sigh,as if she's being bothered,and instead of telling me they are just closing shortly...i tell her what department I'm looking for and she says "just a minute",assuming she's switching me to that department.After a bit the phone starts ringing to another line...but no pick up...i let it ring for a while figuring somebody's got to pick up or the operator will come back on,but no the line was just hung up /disconnected. I called back right away and get the recording that the store is closed...nice...didn't have the common sense to inform me that the store is about to close and to call back tomorrow...
Home Depot has excellent products but horrible service. They are often understaffed. If you don't go to the front customer service desk, you're likely going to waste 30 minutes to an hour looking for the products you need.
Really awesome service. Would like to give shoutout to Shanna at Sales department. We have been helped every time from her with great advice as we renovated and maintained our new home
Decent hardware place to go with ok pricing BUT the quality of their lumber is usually not very good. Twisted and warped boards in a mangled pile is the norm.

My go to home improvement store. Always have what I need. Clean store. Staff are decent.
Finding the right staff is key to getting the product I need (especially when I'm working at the edge of my skill level). Home Depot employs their share of fresh faced teens, but it's usually very easy to find someone experienced in the type of project I'm working on.
I know all the workers aren't this bad. But last time the guy was almost no help. We asked for something they had in stock somewhere not on the shelf. He said word for word. I can go look but I can't garuntee I'll find anything. Our other location has some in stock too, might want to check them out. He refused to look for it.
Much better service at this location. The managers at the Circle Dr location are useless and don't care about customer satisfaction. The management at the other locations at least try to resolve your issues. They need to fire the management on Circle and start from scratch.
Try Lowes or Rona, both have great staff and Managers that know that a happy customer is a returning customer!!!
Shipper ( old lady ) were realy bad and disrespectfull . I was ringing bell from out side and she was sitting inside rite next to that door but sit dint even look around and see who want to come and y ?. She had ready bad attitude with all delivery driver .

I wanted to price match electrical products from Reno Depot but she insisted that: one, the electrical products we were getting weren't listed on the flyer even though we provided her with all the skus, price and inventory; two, the person who answered the phone at Reno Depot told her that the sales were only for basic electrical items. We were buying a new panel and breakers with electrical wiring. It's as basic as you can get. So we drove directly to Reno Depot and got amazing customer service. I've shopped at this home depot for over 40 times in the last two years with receipts to prove them and this is how they treat their gen x customers who researches everything before hand. Way to treat customers like they don't know a thing.

Was in to spend some money. Received some money for Xmas.We needed a new furnace. So we were going to order a Trane furnace ,fridge , stove and dishwasher. I needed a trailer to take stuff home before I purchased it. Finally found a trailer in the seasonal dept. It was damaged . Lights broke off, dents in fenders and back of trailer. Lic.plate lights both damaged. In summer same trailer was 1699.00 less 100.00 off.After waiting for manager to show up to see if I could save a few dollars on this trailer. The manger would only give me 125.00 off of trailer and it was up to me to replace all broke lights. I said in the fall the trailers all had 100.00 off. Why not give me 200.00 off and I would take it as is and I would replace lights. He would have no part of it even after I said it was a hundred dollars off in the fall and damaged. He would only give me 125.00 off. I said I could come back and get a undamaged trailer for 1699.00 less 100.00 so why would I pay what he wanted for a badly damaged trailer. So as I walked out of this store with nothing and went down to TSC store the very same trailer was sitting in their parking lot. They were more than happy to give me a good price which I purchased and when out to a local appliance dealer and purchased all my appliances . Plus a washer and dryer. Total value of all items and trailer was over 18,000.00. Thanks Home Depot for the wake up call.

I've heard them calling customers idiots and swearing, I walked by with my brother he says "we need to get this idiots order together" talking about a customer.. The service I received at Home Depot from Chris Fleischmann in the Doors and Windows Department was Stellar! The intricacies of buying a patio door for my home was a bit overwhelming to me but Chris’s knowledge base, mindfulness, time, effort and support made this purchase a seamless and worry free endeavor. Chris also followed up after installation to ensure that the door was operating satisfactorily. I would recommend consulting Chris for any of your door or window requirements. You will not be disappointed.
The guys on the Pro Desk are very knowledgeable and very helpful, can't speak highly enough of them.
Must say, there are to many kids that do not know what they are doing and do not know the products in the lumber department. Need more experienced people.
Overall I am a contractor and I will use them for all my needs for my business.

Appliances REFUSED to PRICE MATCH because its was "TOO CHEAP"/ they lose money??? Then Manager said they had to charge separate delivery charge ON EACH ITEM even though I was ordering it all at ONE TIME/ONE BILL. Both above are against Home Depot Policy. I had another Big Box Hardware Store Oshawa LOWE'-R printed flyer in my hand. HD Bownmanville Manager refused again to match/beat! Home Depot advertises they will MATCH AND BEAT by 10%??? When I showed them the 10% policy flyer right on the appliances the manager said "IF SOMEONE ELSE WANTS TO TAKE A LOSS THEN BUY THERE". So I bought my $15,000 worth of appliances elsewhere. I use to like this store due to it being less busy then other stores.. but maybe there is a reason people go elsewhere.
OK for most things but usually a frustration for building supplies as they apparently have only a half dozen lumber carts and then half of them are usually tied up with custom windows or something. It's gotten to the point where I gladly drive to Lowes in the 'shwa because I know they'll have all their carts indoors lined up by the lumber.

On May 18th we were pouring concrete . At 6:10pm I went to the midland store for 6 more bags. The section was locked so I couldn't drive in to pick it up. A store employee told me I would have to bring the bags to the teller then put it in my truck! I am 63 yr old woman' with a bad back! I asked him to help me, he said he had to gather up the carts in the parking lot! No one was in the area to help me! When I paid for the 6 bags weighing 66 lbs each I asked for help I couldn't lift them onto the truck! The clerk paged but no one came. 3 men were just standing talking at the paint counter! A customer left his purchase and loaded it for me! Neither of us were impressed with the service! My husband and I have spent at least $20000.00 in the past year at this store! We have completely redone kitchen, 2 bathrooms and upper & lower doors in our home! Every week we've been at this store, Ted an older man who works on the weekends has been the most knowlegable and helpful staff you have there! I wish he'd been there last night ! He would have gotten me the help I needed! Concrete is an extremely fast drying product and not easy to work with as some people know! My husband & I both work with public service! We are not impressed with what happened yesterday! The manager should take a good long look at some of these employees! You need to retrain or get rid of the bad ones! It's only hurting your reputation! I hope to hear a reply back regarding this matter, the sooner the better!

Terrible over the phone service, associates cannot be bothered to give you time of day. As my local store I've called on numerous occasions and it's not uncommon to be "accidentally" disconnected while calling to confirm if an item is in stock or available.
Having purchased flooring and paid cash for installation Have found the waiting for install completely unacceptable. Today discovered it shall be a month from the time of payment before I see the install. Slowest service in History and do not recommend anyone purchasing flooring from this Company
Friendly service. Clean bathrooms. Found everything I was looking for. Paint. Rollers. Brushes and sliding closet door hardware. Damage deposit, I always get u back. ;)

I find the web site useless. It's not the first time I have tried to search for something and the "price is not available" do you know how frustrating this is. I can go on Kent, Canadian Tire, Costco etc. and find what I'm looking for and the price. For that reason I think today is the last day I try Home Depot Web site.

Meh, I love going here but only if I don't want help or need someone who knows what they are talking about because almost every time you ask a question they'll just start pulling products and reading the label. If I'm asking for advice, I've already done this. They need to be ok with saying I'm not sure but I'll get someone who knows (if that person exists)
Also, don't fall for the "clearance" areas with what look like discount prices, they almost never are and sometimes cost just as much as a brand new, newer version of the same product.
If you want help, goto Rona, better prices, better service.

The customer service staff here are very knowledgeable and willing to help. However the store seems short staffed and they could definitely use more people on the floor.
I was in there yesterday and was really impressed at how helpful and friendly all the staff were. I had three different staff members go out of their way to do little things to help me out and I didn't even ask. They must have done some new customer service training because it was really impressive how nice they were.

The worst lumber selection of all the Home depots, they will not removed culled wood so be prepared to dig through piles of crap wood to find some thing you can use.

I have been there many times .This place is lacking when it comes to staff knowledge,but then I met A guy named Ross he knocked my socks off with ideas and improvements.He helped me make a Bbq and also how to properly do a fence on my property.I must say if you go there find Ross he knows what he is doing hands down best employee I seen down there in years.Hats off to him and I will be seeing him again soon for some garden ideas.
Still can't remember her name in paint but she is an amazing help last night and today she gave me the best customer service I've had in a very long time. Extremely helpful and even helped me in paint color choices and the one today matched my other paint perfectly. It's so nice to have someone know how to treat there customers. Could not say enough good things about her.
Our go to store for anything they carry. Quality is usually good or better, and if you can't find what you need, there's always someone to help. Garden center was a bit flooded; I expect watering of plants, but giant puddles suck to walk through. Selection of plants was great this season.
Customer service leaves something to be desired. Had to ask employees to page someone for us twice. Probably waited 15 minutes for someone to finally come help. And the store wasn't super busy.
MUCH MUCH better service than the store on 137 and 127 ST. I even tried complaining to the manager and he could have cared less. If that had been my first experience with Home Depot I would have never gone back. The St Albert store is a little small but well run. For bigger selection and still good service try 50 ST and 137 Ave Clairview location.
The building itself is easy to navigate . The customer service is ok but I found some people weren't very knowledgeable.
The staff are mostly pretty helpful, although sparsely populated. Takes a long time to find someone who can help you. Store stock leaves something to be desired, as I'm constantly being told to go to another HD store to get the product I want.
We usually have very good experiences here. The store is well stocked and the staff helpful. They've recently expanded their appliance section, too.
The only issue we've had are special orders taking much longer than quoted - but this is the manufacturer's issue, not home depot's fault.
This is my first time to do an onlne review and i am doing this because of the outstanding Customer Service that i always receive whenever i go here to buy something, IT is funny, i live in the West End of the city but i always come here because of their exemplary Customer service. Gary has been always helpful and the rest of the people in the Customer Service, they are outstanding and their managers! I LOVE IT HERE!
The staff were amazing! Very friendly, very helpful! One staff member, Robert I think his name is, helped tremendously with a door knob with lock. Another staff also was very helpful when we looked at storm doors. Other staff approached us on their own and asked if they could help us!! The store itself is nice and well stocked. We live about 2 hours away from St Albert, and we will go back there again.
Hi my name is Rick. I was visiting your St. Albert location and was loading a tonne of materials in to the van with my 67 year old father. I could see the my dad was getting tired, so I approached a Home Depot employee, his name is Chris Thaxter, and asked him if he would give me a hand. Chris Thaxter immediately stopped what he was doing and helped me load every single last piece of material into the van. I also asked him for a few construction pointers. I feel like this is one of the hardest places to find what you are looking for. On this particular visit, it was about 15 minutes to find somebody to come and make one cut for a piece of wood for me!

Typical to Home Depot, it can take forever to find someone in the right department to help you, but there are always tons of people to say "hello!" to you at the door.

One of the worst run Home Depot - you're more likely to get physical help from another customer then you would an employee. If they see you struggling with something they simply put their head down and keep walking. I've had three purchases recently all outside their three-month window - one was a 50,000 our LED fixtures that lasted 100 hrs that I paid $70 for - another was $120 wall-mounted heater that cracked and was dangerously overheating and the third was $3000 worth of Balli blinds that they offer absolutely no support whatsoever for - if you have a problem you have to deal directly with the manufacturer. All the manufacturers were extremely easy to deal with - I just don't get why Home Depot sells the product gets the profit and then doesn't service the customer I didn't Buy direct from the manufacturer

Very friendly staff on first impression - but perhaps a cynical attitude towards customers in policy. Why do I say this? Because, having driven all the way from Perth to buy the kitchen tap I wanted - and having irreversibly dismantled the old system to fit it - I had to drive all the way back to CP again next day to return it (in appalling weather). This was because the box had been opened and two vital parts were MISSING. Should I have spotted this at the time of purchase? Possibly. The manufacturer's straps had been replaced by Home Depot's own fastenings with an alarm attached (not that I knew this until I got a box that hadn't been tampered with and saw what straps should have been fitted). However, this indicated that staff must have noticed it had been opened - and they should have checked the contents. Or, worse, had it already been returned once? In fact, is it back on the shelvers now?
Also - I notice that Home Depot do NOT give an email address so that one can conveniently raise an issue like this direct with management. Hence this review.
I was there on a recent Saturday, and despite the store being absolutely packed, the staff was very friendly and helpful, I rented a truck to take my haul home and the people at the rental centre made it super easy.
